My eldest daughter wants to upgrade from her first car (Mazda Genki) to a Focus - makes me proud she does.
I only have knowledge of Falcons pre 2000, know nothing about the modern kit out there or anything with less than six cylinders. So I call on you guys that could make us aware of anything to look out for. I have mechanical aptitude, so you don't have to keep it too basic. Any opinions good or bad are most welcome and greatly appreciated. Here's some examples Ashley linked to me of what she is looking for: 1. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...-3866992/?Cr=4 - the only bummer about this one is they've fitted 18 inch alloys to it (factory standard is 16 inch) so that will make tyres more expensive. 2. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...-3904762/?Cr=0 3. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...-3897681/?Cr=3 Thanks in advance. Cheers! Edit: If any of you know of a good one within say an hour of Brisbane metro, PM me.

Mum has an LW Focus and it's a beauty. She's put 70,000km on it in two years and the only thing that has gone wrong was the auto's clutch, however that was fixed under warranty and Ford now covers this particular issue for longer than the initial factory warranty. My brother and I drove from Geelong to Adelaide and back in a day and we were comfortable the whole time.
Fun to drive, well built, reliable and good looking, can't really go wrong with it. |

Hey Shifty there is a rather large thread in the Focus section regarding the auto transmission.
You may want to have a read of it before going auto. |

We'd love to hear about them - similar body style, seating, features, price etcetera.
She's only asked me for advice which I can't give - that's why I posted this thread. She may shy off getting a Focus, no harm in seeking help from people in the know. Cheers!
