Seen a couple of his live one man comedy shows on tape from his younger days, and he is very very funny. Eddie Murphy copied and admired Richard Prior, but has nothing on him. The man was a comedic genius. RIP.

That's a shame. A very funny man.

Other classic movies are "Moving" which is hysterical. Watch for Randy Quaid and Dana Garvey (Garth from Wayne's World). He also had a major role in one of the Superman movies (Superman 3 I think). He stole the show there as well. **** funny!!

RIP Richard Prior.

Hopefully he died in the same way that he described his father dying, if you've seen his stand-up shows, you should kow how he went

Yep, he called it "recycling" if I remember correctly.

He was one funny bugger. Oh well, he's at the upstairs bar with Rodney Dangerfield and John Candy now. I'd love to hear that conversation.

Thanks for the laughs Richard.

Not really unexpected, as he has suffered the effects of MS for many years.

A truly gifted comic actor, and stand-up comedian. His films with Gene Wilder are an absolute scream, even now. He was an inspiration to modern comedians, both black and white.

I'm off to hire 'Silver Streak', 'Stir Crazy', and 'Brewsters Millions'....should keep me laughing for a few hours, at least.

Wouldn't that be worth paying money to see.
