Default Share a recipe................

I do 80% of the cookin at home as i enjoy it . and over time through friends family and chefs i do work for i have some great recipes and i thought this forums members may have some good recipes to share as well .

3 Pork spare ribs, cut into cubes
3 Spanish Chorizo sausages, cut into chunks
1 Large Onion sliced
1 large capsicum sliced
2 Cans of Crushed Tomatos
3 cloves of garlic, sliced like paper
2 sweet potatos
10 Kalamata Olives(Pitted)
Tobasco
oregano
basil
cracked pepper

Fry the pork and sausage in olive oil(Or Butter. NOT MARGARINE) in a pot, with the onions and garlic. Add a bit of the oregano and basil. Give it a whack of tobasco for balls. Fry until lightly browned or beer is empty.

Add crushed tomatos, capsicum, olives, some more basil and oregano to the pot, and lower heat to simmer until you have finished 2-3 more beers.

Mash Sweet potato and throw in some butter and cracked pepper and mash until all your anger is worked out.

Grab a bowl, dollop in the sweet potato' throw in some of your stew, best served with 5 more beers.

Portions equal one bastard sized serving.

i have been eating a lot of soup recently
ox tail soup has been one of my favs
simple and cheap

water
barley
potato
carrot
onion
couliflower
basically any veg u can find
ox tails
and seasonings

put it all in a slow cooker in the morning...when u get home from work bammm..u gota yaself a hot meal that u barely had to prepare....and after all the slow cooking the meat off the ox tails are all juicy and fall off the bone...
really filling

Here's the super quick curry that I came across and have tried with much success. please excuse vague quantities as I normally make it by feel.

Brown a load of cubed (fair chunks) meat. Lamb i my fav.
Add copious amount of curry powder+chilli.
Add whatever else you want such as mushies, onions, potato, carrot etc. Remember if they are like potato or carrot, microwave frst to soften and therefore speed up cooking.
Add crushed tomatoes and coconut cream in ratio of 2:1, remembering that more cream = milder curry.
simmer for 15-20 mins and serve.

funny i havent seen any of our lady members with a good one yet .
mack 6's currys a fav heres one ya might like

texas beef

spices ingredients
1/2 tsp chilli powder 3/4 kg blade off the bone
1 tsp cumin powder 1&1/2 dsp canola oil/olive
1/4 tsp crush garlic 3 medium onions
1/2 tsp salt 1&1/2 dsp beef stock
1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 cup water
1/3 cup plain flour
preperation

cut onions into quarters
trim blade steak of all fat & grissle , cut into 1" cubes
use a large freezer bag & fill with flour - shake of salt & pepper & chilli & cumin
add meat to bag and coat thouroghly

heat pan "high" coat with oil and toss the meat untill brown but not cooked
brown onions
over "med" heat in pan add all spices , onion , and remaining ingredients
add water stir and add meat
simmer for around 1 hour adding a little water if it thickens up.

enjoy, serves around 2 - 3 people for these measurements

simmo's super secret dip

just mix equal parts of philly cream cheese, corn relish and tomato relish and you have an insanely good dip that will disapear in minutes.

also

simmo's simple sangria

take a bottle of red wine 750ml [most will do but stay away from a rose or port, merlot and cab sav do well]
750ml of lemonade
500ml of orange juice
some assorted fruits [orange, watermelon, pineapple]

mix it all together and its great on a hot day. way too easy to drink the whole lot yourself. little umbrella optional.

I would of thought being chauvenistic would be "cook my dinner woman" type stuff...... this is kinda like reverse, now the women are finding men to cook for them :

Chicken in Milk

A slightly odd, but really fantastic combination, which must be tried
1 (3 pound/ 1.5 kilogram) organic chicken
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 ounces (115 grams) or 1 stick butter
1/2 cinnamon stick
1 good handful fresh sage, leaves picked
2 lemons, zested
6 garlic cloves, skin left on
1 pint (565 millilitres) milk

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C/gas 5), and find a snug-fitting pot for the chicken. Season it generously all over with salt and pepper, and fry it in the butter, turning the chicken to get an even color all over, until golden. Remove from the heat, put the chicken on a plate, and throw away the butter left in the pot. This will leave you with tasty sticky goodness at the bottom of the pan, which will give you a lovely caramel flavor later on.
Put your chicken back in the pot with the rest of the ingredients, and cook in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours. Baste with the cooking juice when you remember. The lemon zest will sort of split the milk, making a sauce, which is absolutely fantastic.
To serve, pull the meat off the bones and divide it on to your plates. Spoon over plenty of juice and the little curds. Serve with wilted spinach or greens and some mashed potato.
Yield: 4 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 40 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

Pretty easy Bolognase.

Ingredients.
500gm mince (heart smart)
4-5 Bacon rashers - diced
1 Carrot (optional)
1 can of chopped tomatos
1 tub of tomato paste
1 clove of garlic
Afew leaves of basil - chopped
50ml of Marsala - depends on personal taste
Spaghetti


Chop carrot, garlic and bacon and throw in a frying pan with mince. Brown mince.
Whilst mince is browning chop basil leaves.
Put spagetti on the stove in boiling water once the mince is virtually browned
Once mince is browned throw in the can of chopped tomatoes and tomato paste and basil leaves and mix.
Finally add the marsala mix and simmer until spag is cooked.

Serve with shredded cheese.
Serves 2 big eaters or 4 with salad.

Note: I dont measure the marsala I add and this is a strong flavour which can overpower the dish. Use about 1/8-1/4 of a cup.

My 13yo son makes this one:

(Makes 2)
1 banana, sliced
4 slices bread
Nutella (to taste)
Maple syrup (to taste).

Get your toasted sandwich maker and turn it on to heat up while you prepare the food.

Spread the nutella on one side of the bread, top with banana, then pour maple syrup over the lot. Put the other slice of bread on top. Transfer to the sanger maker. He manages to butter the other side of the bread as well, don't ask me how! Cook until it's browned (the maple syrup smells amazing when it's cooking like this).

He's made one for me, it is DIVINE. The one word that is catching on here for a toasted sanger is a Toastie (thanks to the Poms lol).
