No way...!
The Delorean was, and still is, an awesome car! BTTF is one of the best trilogies ever made!

IMO the DeLorean should have been bought back to life. so much potential that car had to become even better. stainless steel....not even heard of in the automotive industry at present.
if the car had have been embraced a bit more by the public there wouldnt have been a $40m drug bust which ended it all. and for an 'ugly car' (as some may say) go see what they are worth now! (also note that apparently there is NO shortage of parts either as there is sposedly a whole warehouse full somewhere-you just gotta find it first) |

Yeah but they are still slow as, 147hp at the fly I think. There is a mob that can get about 200 out of them and have the engine bay looking stock, then there's the one getting around stateside with 3 rotors in it....
Ugly? Hell no! You should see how good they can look with a lick of paint! And if that's not your thing you can clean it with Gif and do the kitchen sink after it! It's a shame DMC never really got off the ground and it looks like it never will get back up, at least not with John's ideas, which is really what made the company. |

It's a Renault engine I believe? Lotus suspension or something. I'm getting a bit rusty on the things.
They would of been something special, but I don't think the late 70's early 80's were the best years to start up a car company. I think it was doomed well before the cocaine thing. |

The delorian was a odd looking car compaired to most on the road but a nice one at that. BTTF practically made that car worldwidely known. LOL every time I see pics of a Delorian makes me wanna crack out the ZZTOP and Pat Benatar LP's :P
MARTY Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean? Doc Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?

I think that the funniest thing about them, was the fact that if DMC lasted a few years longer, they would have been inundated with orders, thanks to the BTTF series.

I read his eulogy in The Age today, it makes for a great story. He ripped off every one, governments, business associates and even the lawyers that got him off the cocaine importing thing. The most time he ever spent in jail was ten days before he was freed on bail, but a stuff up by the police saw him go free on a technicality, even after being busted with 25kgs of cocaine. Amazing.
