Anyone going to get along to this event. Should be a great spectacle and just look at the line up of cars. This Friday Saturday and Sunday with each car doing three passes each on each day.

There are a few of us that are entered into the car show on Sunday. I'm not sure if any are going on the Friday and Saturday as well.
I was reading the program book that came in the paper, looking forward to seeing some of the cars do the speed demos. |

I'll be there on the Sunday with the other members for the show and shine Mike. What day is the actual flying mile, or is it over 3 days?
Looks like it will be a big day of cleaning the ute this Saturday, it is an absolute mess at the moment, plaster everywhere!!!!

Guys, I am in need of some help.
I need to track down a workshop that would be able to do a little job for me either late this arvo or early tomorrow morning. I've pm'd Tim, the problem I have is - I have no contacts in Launny, and I discovered a urgent job last night that needs attention asap. If I don't get it done, my car will not see the three days out. Any and all help would be fantastic, the Scud GT needs a new part I have air freighted last night, it arrives today into Launny. Will need installing asap. My mobile number is 0428292835 - I will be offline today as I will be at Longford. If anyone thinks they may be able to assist, or pass on someone elses contact details that can do this rush / urgent job for me, please drop me a line. Help me fly the blue flag! Thanks in advance tex

Wow great effort but what are the conditions like
The speeds are lower than I would have expected, but still reasonably fast I suppose... |

Speed trap was placed just after the start of the armco, there was a lot more track after that.
The bike was allowed to give GPS speed readings instead of using trap speed. His trap speed was about 24k slower than his GPS from memory. My terminal speed was higher than the trap speed but it doesn't matter if everyone is recorded at the same place. As compared to the old days - the runs were only done on a part of the old flying mile, and from a standing start. And BTW I did a 241 and a 246 (although the 246 may have been called wrong and actually been 240) Tim. |

hahahahahaha, you obviously weren't in attendence mate? Considering the length of the run, and the standing start, and the length of the braking area, the speeds were most certainly NOT down on what could have been expected. it was a fair dinkum balls to the wall go-whoa. tex

No I wasn't that's why I was interested in the conditions
So it wasn't a flying mile, that explains a fair bit then... |

It turned out to be more of a flying and stopping mile, I think next year they will fix it, hopefully by making it a true flying mile and a better braking area, or even some sort of runoff. I had a blast saw some amazing cars and bikes and got to meet a few more Club members, was a freat day I took a few videos and photos on my phone, here are some of my favourites, Yes, there are a lot!
