Yeah, I just don't understand the mentality of morons that throw rocks from an overpass. I am pleased they caught up with them, normally they get away. Hopefully she makes a speedy recovery.

Its not attempted Manslaughter, its pre meditated, as he had to pick up the rock, so he was thinking about what he was doing, its attempted MURDER....

Throw a rock at his head!
Very sad and I can't understand how a person would derive a sense of pleasure from throwing rocks at cars : |

"maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm"
It can't be attempted murder because he was not specifically attacking her, rather his actions caused harm to her. Either way it doesn't really matter what the charge is as long as he gets what he deserves. |

I don't feel so bad now I only had a brick thrown through my rear windscreen and the car was parked in my driveway on Friday night. About $1000 damage to the roof and boot, but I am still able to talk about it.

Happened to a guy here in Adelaide a few years ago, I think the poor guy was only in his early 20's and he had to undergo a heap of surgery and stuff, he was in a real bad shape. I believe he's recovered most of it now bar the scarring, and police have only just apprehended the offender or something (if I recall correctly).
Some people are just total (insert swearing here). I mean, what kind of joy or fun can you seriously get from throwing rocks onto people's cars as they drive around??? I hope the poor lass recovers ok, and whoever did it gets karma kicking their ***.

if i see someone throwing stuff off a bridge id swerve at them and run the bastards down, i live next to the M7 and stuff like this happens so often it's not funny. most overpasses now have fences to make it harder for these morons to throw stuff over, and themselves.

Its about time they caught one of these idiots. What sort of person throws a rock of an overpass at cars for fun. How can they think doing this sort of this is entertainment. Someone is going to be injured. I hope they go to town on him. He deserves everything plus more for this. What a total tool.
I think this is the first time they have ever caught anyone. Remember the truckie who got hit a few years back. |

Geeze, perhaps those countries that still do public floggings, or have the "an eye for an eye" rule arn't so bad after all.
Wouldn't you just love to cut off his hands with a rusty blunt knife. Makes me sick. Wonder what the judge will give him...... |

That is disgusting. I dont know how people can do that sort of thing to other people. How can you throw things of bridges and not realise the damage you could do? And at that age, well there can be no excuses. I hope his name is released. I would imagine someone like him wouldnt fare well with Bubba and friends in jail though....
That poor girl and her family. I hope she wakes up soon and makes a full recovery. She was only 22 and did not deserve that - how sad that someone can suffer so much at the hands of dipshits like that. As for the charge, unfortunately there will be no attempted murder. For murder, there has to be an intent to kill and the act of attempting to kill. It would be very hard to argue that he deliberately set out to kill her by throwing the rocks. Without that intent, murder is lessened to manslaughter. This is where the action of killing took place without the intent to do so, which is replaced by recklessness or something like that... However, since in this place the girl is (thankfully) not dead, then no manslaughter either, and as others have said, there is no such thing as attempted manslaughter as there can be no attempt to accidentally commit a crime. I would image though, that some very serious charges will be laid and there will hopefully be some serious penalties accompanying them. I would love to be in court to hear is defence, if he has one. One way or the other, I hope he gets justice.

Suprise suprise
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...23/1985915.htm Make me sick. Does the poor girl get bail to get out of her coma? I have no faith in the courts whatsoever.
