Hi guys...Just wanted to clarify something! Does anyone know if the 2007 manufactured TDCI is fitted with a DPF? Whilst researching information prior to purchasing the TDCI, I am pretty sure that I read that this model does not have a DPF fitted, althought it is Euro IV Compliant. After looking at many Oil Company sites, it appears that the 2008/09 models DO have one fitted..... Would some knowledgeable person please clarify this for me, as I want to be sure that I am using the correct engine oils.... Thanks in anticipation... Chicka |

It is my understanding those blessed with a 2007/8 (MY08) TDCI do not have the particulate filter and all its attendant issues.

lovely anti pollution system that catches the sooty residue from a diesel, hence Diesel Particulate Filter DPF. On many new diesels the filter is cleaned by the engine management giving the engine a burst of extra fuel that I gather burns the trapped soot. On some cars its triggered by sensors that measure the exhaust pressure both sides of the filter to decide when it needs cleaning so merely removing it from your exhaust system may upset the ECU.
