We are definitely open to suggestions Steve. Got any? My understanding is that it does not have to be limited to Batemans Bay. Criteria: Good fish and chips with room to park possibly up to 20 cars.

Cheers

If u are looking for other places, I'd suggest the 'Pickled Octopus' at Tuross head. It adds another half hour to your trip from the bay but the food and prices are great and the owner is an absolute Ford fanatic - even named his son 'Ford.' Anyway, I'm sure he'd look after you with a good range of meals available - menu upstairs or fish and chips on the deck above the water downstairs.

Just had a look a the Pickled Octopus in Tuross Heads. Looks more like a sit down style meal. Do others want to have sit down type meal, or more a take away style?

Choices guys and gals? If we decide on Tuross Heads, which way do we want to go? Via Cooma, Brown Mountain and Bega is 333km according to Google
http://goo.gl/maps/xl9Ij

Or, straight down to Batemans Bay to Tuross Heads - 188km (Distances from Watson)
http://goo.gl/maps/By8BS

I personally would like to go via Brown Mountain, but that may be a bit far for some?

Upstairs is a sitdown meal of that menu but if you would like very good fish and chips only, they designate the downstairs deck for that, plenty of seats and benches and you are on the water should u feel the need to cast a line or hire a boat. Give them a call to discuss beforehand and advise you are with the club and its an organised cruise, may well offer a deal of sorts although from memory, the $10-$12 outlay was good value anyway.
Otherwise the trip from Canberra to the bay & then via princess hwy is about 2.5hrs if u stick to the limits (and if a touch of towing congo-line traffic here and there gets in the way.) There is a fair bit of road works beyond narooma atm which can make it a longish trip across the brown - depends what you all want.

Thanks Ratman. Is everybody happy with Tuross Heads as a destination? I think we should go via the Kings Hwy given what Ratman has stated.

Cheers

Thanks Bucky. Meet time at BP Watson 8:45 for a 9:00 departure. This gives us plenty of time to head down the Kings Highway and on to Tuross Heads for lunch.

Hope that you can make it Bucky.

Stu

P.S. Be sure to be wearing our club shirts as owner at destination is a Ford fan.
