I just bought a 1986 Spectron bus. I assume this is the same as an Econovan specs. Its got a FE motor and I am getting only 350-400 k's out of a full tank of Caltex 85 petrol. I was thinking of putting a carby kit through but was wondering would a webber carby be better? I want the best economy I can out of this little 4 cylinder. Plugs, leads, filters are all new. Sorry if I posted in the wrong area. Any help regarding this would be appreceated. Oh, the motor has only done about 150,000 since rebuild.

Very much so
E85 is 85% ethonol Nothing wrong with it but if your engine isnt built for it it will run like a buster bum and drink fuel like there's no tomorrow It's also very harsh on conventional flexible fuel lines and seals, so cross your fingers you haven't stuffed them

Considering it's vintage I'd be running non ethonol 95 or e10 91 at worst
