Default Toyota in talks for Holden-style handouts

Toyota in talks for Holden-style handouts - LINK

With the demise in Ford Australia's local manufacturing set to happen in 2016, maybe some of the boof heads in
Government and opposition finally get the gravity of the situation facing the remaining two local car manufacturers.

Or maybe I give some people way to much credibility in an election year....

Perhaps it would be better for them to close manufacturing so they can make a profit in the country instead?

Their exports have taken a massive hit due to our dollar in both volume and margin.

Seems to be a lot of hate around at the moment.

exactly. the sooner people realise it has nothing to do with the actual products and everything to do with external influences, the quicker we can all move on from all the ford bashing.

The government will probably just throw more cash at the problem, when it does sweet f all in helping the local manufacturers be more competitive aginst imported rivals.

Just throwing cash at it does not solve the issue. Its the high cost of business, electricity prices, carbon tax etc, and the open flood gates that allow imports to flood our market by retarded free trade agreements that are anything but.

Unless the government gets tough and protects our industries instead of letting them be screwed by foreign manufacturers its all just a waste of money.

END RANT.
