Just out of interest was looking at the fullboost site and saw that some in a Boss had run a quick time, And I quote

" Another ‘unopened’ V8 was Danny’s Boss powered BA Falcon going as quick as 11.30/122!.

If this is true I think someone that I know wont be to happy.

I reckon it's a mistake DABOSS, i know Danny Mullan was out there in his VY SV8 Commodore running in the BOSS LS1 category and he ran 11.30/122MPH.

BOSS stands for Bolt On ????

Cheers Craig

BOSS LS1 class stands for Bolt On Street Stripper, basically unopened LS1 (valve sping change permitted) and down to a minimum weight of 1400 kg

They also have BOTS, which is Bolt On True Street, which again is unopened LS1 (spring change allowed) ,b ut the car has to run same size tyres as the tyre placard, full exhaust, all trim etc.

does the term UN-OPENED mean not being able to touch the internals?

is manifold, cam, head allowed to be tampered with at all?

I could be wrong but there unopened means they can change things that bolt on externally, like manifolds, throttle body etc, but they can not change heads, cam, rocker gear etc, although they do allow a change of valve springs due to the factory item loosing seat pressure quickly.

The quickest BOSS LS1 has gone 11.30, but another unopened one has gone 11.15, but weighed 1340 kg which is slightly underweight for their rules
