Post Ford vs Holden Exterior Colours

All invited...

Would appreciate everyone's feedback on Ford vs Holden exterior colours for a benchmarking activtiy.

Constructive feedback would be fantastic.

Can be anything colour related, good colours, bad colours, what you would like to see etc etc.

Thank You

Yes I'm a big fan of Bionic Blue I think it is.

The new Holden Green is very good and stands out well (too bad the VE looks so bad)

I'm trying to gauge what current OEM provides more choice.

Question such as:

Would you like to see more or less colour changes per year?
A larger colour palette?
Overall colour perception and how important is it to the consumer when buying a new car?

Thanks

I didnt like how ford kept changing their Light Blue so quickly. AU3-BA1 blueprint, ba2 velocity, bf bionic, and i think they kept bionic but then also gave out neo in bfmk2, i didnt mind that they had 2 choices, but colours such as velocity should have stayed aswell for a while, was such a nice colour.

Ford - i like there purple with the blue spec, not sure colour name, and the pearl blue (maybe coz my cars that colour) i usually like the darker colour
Holden, i like there new green colour looks good on the ss's though that purple well i hate it, so very metrosexual for me, if it was slightly darker it would be ok i think

I like the bright Orange in the falcon like the FG XR8 on display at the Motor Show I think it looks tough. Reminds me of a bright Yellow Ochre.

Its dependent on the model when considering your question.Personally i feel Ford have Effectively Diversified their colour pallette since the BA which identified a trend Ford had for going for darker Colours and hues.Holden of late has a good Range of colour options and so do Ford, however that does not mean i would choose the new colours on offer.
Some of the new colours are to polarizing, meaning some people like them some dont, they are not neutral or a common likeable colour which can be dangerous for resale, such as the bright green and yellow on offer from the likes of Holden with the VE ute.
Colours are vital and colour choices are vital in a car because they are one of the only ways customers can personilse their own car and give them a sense of gradification and self originality, practically and open to the majority of the population whom do not wish to spend a fortune on bodykits and the like.

FG XR8 burnt orange or whatever is is a great colour, imo. I reckon some dark cherry black, purple colours would be real good.

I wouldn't know much about the holden range of colours so I won't comment on them. But for the Ford side I think the colours that they did bring through from bf to fg were fairly basic colours so it doesn't matter as much. For instance winter white I beleave is the best white I've ever seen (but I am a little bias ) Lighting strike and ego are still basic and people still love them. But for actual colours it's important to change them regularlly cause the bright colours and stand out colours are almost like phases with most people. And all most girls see is the colour of a car anyway.

Also ford should have kept phantom a little longer or forever.

I like the fact ford keep their colours exclusive and do them in small runs. just look at holden's tiger mica for example. overdone and crap,

oh and forgot to mention i love blueprint and the mandarin colour

acid rush could have done ba2 aswell!
citric acid as above!
and that teal glow looking colour ford released was absolutely awesome.
menace was a reasonable colour but the mixing i think was done incorrectly it was too cloudy.
overall ford has come up with some spastic colours and it was good of them to keep them for certain runs in production, but they could have kept them as an option on other production runs.

Personally I love the interior colours used on the G6E-T, they all seem to gel well together. I also love the lightening strike used on the same car as it accents the chrome tastefully. In fact, I will be buying atleast one series one FG G6E-T when it is released, and have already fallen in love with the aforementioned colour combination. What would be nice though is an Aston DB9 silver being offered.

There need to be more blood red type colours, really deep reds and also some nice champange colours

Some of my favourite colours in Fords lineup at the moment are Ego (Ultra metallic dark grey), Breeze (Bluey Green), De Ja Vu (dark green), and my absolute favourite, Seduce (that light burgandy). There aren't many colours in the Ford lineup I don't like, but I prefer the classier look over the real Fluro colours like Toxic and Octane.

There are some colours I really wish they would bring back, Royal Blues have always been a personal Favourite of Mine, like Cobalt and Narooma blue. but the colour I miss the most would have to be Phantom Purple.

Ego or Silhouette

Fantastic colours, especially on the Force 6/8 and Fairmont Ghia!

i think ford has the better coulour range ego and bionic are nice but i think the colour range when the ba series 1 was out was definitely the best all the old colours from the 70's especially phantom and blood orange
