My Falcon is an AUIII wagon and I am having some trouble finding the correct sized o ring for the timing chain tensioner bolt does anyone know what the o ring specs are ID and OD ?
ApparentlyV890066S and V890156S are the part numbers for the o rings but I have ordered the the oring (V890066S) and the outer diameter is too large. This is my tensioner with the new o ring fitted (V890066S) https://drive.google.com/uc?id=12Uae...vQnXsJcefZ1tDx And this is a picture of my attempt to insert the tensioner bolt with the (V890066S) o ring fitted outside diameter seems to be too large. Hi,
The large oring fits further along after the end of the thread and between the larger round part of tensioner. Replaces the worn/distorted seal shown in your pic. Remove the worn oring then fit the new oring in place. Cheers |

I took a bunch of pics ill do up another tutorial and make a post tomorrow, I'm a computer tech so the pics and forum are the easy part for me glad theres lots of info here when i need to work on the wagon. :P

The filter has two O rings as well. This fits inside the tensioner main body.
These O rings are an odd size so don't expect to find them at Autobarn or Supercheap. I went to an O ring & seal specialty shop in Dandenong and got some Viton hi temp ones that are very close. Yet to do the job as the oil leak was more likely coming from the idler puller bolt. cheers Bill Edit, the large O ring is for the timing cover to block front face, not the tensioner. My picture is incorrect. Apologies for the error.

Just a bit of an update if it's any use.
I had this leak so tried the supercheap o-ring pack which weren't really the right size for the small but I used the closest and nothing for the large so reused the existing with sealant. However I think it's still leaking (although it may still be oil coming out of my degreased alternator)? So rang Ford spares today to get the genuine o-rings. V890156Sis now obsolete - this was the small one? (if so I will try again with a generic size). V890066S is still available for $6.15 - this is the large one? (if it is and if it resolves my leak I might order a couple of spares). A couple of other suggestions from other threads I'll just list anyway; "i also added some ultra grey around the seal for added leak prevention." My tensioner looks exactly the same as yours, and definitely not the same as the one in the NASON Timing Chain kit. Am interested in how you solved your o-ring issues. |

Hasn't been back since those posts in Feb 2018 so it's not likely you'll hear back.
My first attempt without replacing the large o-ring has failed. So I have bought a new large o-ring from Ford V890066S for $6.15 And I'll use a Supercheap standard one for the small. Have bought the right silicone this time too. |

Found this adjustable pin tool online at Bunnings, $10.68. “Craftsman 2 pin angle grinder adjustable spanner” Bunnings item # 6270612. This got the round housing undone easily once I undid the 14mm bolt.
I’m going to use good old AC Delco sealing compound to seal the threads. |

Hello All,
Is it mission critical if you don’t fit the smaller “inner” o ring to the housing. I fitted a generic o ring and it sits too proud to let the hosing be done up .... if that make sense. This is such a fun job! |

Because I somehow made a hash of my first attempt I paid my mechanic to redo it. I think I remember him saying that the inner seal was the most important one?

Did you replace all the O-rings, use pink plumbing tape on the tapered plug and sealant on the PAS pump bracket bolt?

Sorry, my mistake, it's started leaking oil again from the long bolt that is part of the power steering bracket assembly.
