Default Who takes a bath?

I've renovated and sold a few units over the years and if they had baths in the bathroom I usually tossed them out and rearranged the layout with a large glass walled shower and other modern features. No buyers have ever asked me "where's the bath?"
I haven't had a bath in decades (and yes I do shower every day). So are baths a thing of the past?

Probably not if you have young kids, I would say most parents would like a bath for the little ones.

Isn't the high pressure cleaner the way to go with washing the kids?

But the high PSI from my 145.3 would kill them.... Would have to downgrade and use your 130.

(Note: Private dig Trump would understand)

Probably not 100% necessary in units but if you were renovating and selling family homes I would suggest that they are very important.

We renovated recently and put a larger bath in. Our children are teenagers/adults.

Couldn't think of nothing worse than wading around in your own filth.
Can see the attraction for adults with kids though.
My 2 kids are both under 10y.o They both prefer to shower.

By about 3 the kids were happy to shower, but the 7yo asks for a bath every now & them.

We renovated my old place and put a new bath in. Spent a bit of time at the shop choosing a comfortable one. Never used it in 7 years. Actually, haven't had an adult use the bath in my current place for the entire 11 years we've been here...

But I still wouldn't buy a place without one, as it restricts your market again when you go to sell.

Maybe once a month after a hard day of footy or cricket, I don't mind an hour or two in a bath full of Epsom salts. Absolutely love it.

But I completely agree, in this day and age I think a bath is a waste of space in a room that is usually tight for space.

In a family home with two bathrooms, a bath is a must in the main bathroom for young kids. Especially if it is a rental.
In the ensuite, just a shower.

I have a bath every Sunday afternoon - maximum water temp so I really sweat it out. Radox added. Glass of good scotch and a few car magazines. Bliss

I always encourage my young'n Jack to have a bath, have the water trickling in so we can encourage him to brush his teeth, but he loves to stand in the shower with dad . I personally havn't bathed for years. A bath is a must in a house i think

I use the truck wash at work

in all seriousness I'm currently renovating my bathroom and I have a 70 house with a one piece bath/shower where if you have a bath you use 70 catrilloin liters and its only half way up the side of your body if you lay down in it oddly ~ you know the type an oddly small shaped concrete swimming pool in the bathroom tiled
well its getting a high side narrower 2mtr long spa bath and yes I dou use them for my back

I get to see many new residential building plans every day from different builders as part of my job as a HVAC Engineer.

Most of the urban living dwellings such as small townhouses usually don't include a bath. Only in the larger 3 bedroom units.

The larger house and land type packages designed for first home buyers with young families all include a bath.

Its "horses for courses" as the saying goes.

Have not had a bath for at least 30 years, not planning to have one either, could not think of anything worse, just the thought of it makes my skin crawl.

I have a high pressure adjustable shower nozzle which gives you a nice massage, best $$ I ever spend on personal hygiene.

When we bought our current house early 2000's, the first thing was a couple of split systems & a free standing claw foot bath for the missus. I also fitted the exposed trombone style taps with a hand held shower head so she can wash herself off in the bath to save having a shower after. I put a seperate shower in as well for me mainly as Im more of a shave, shower & sh*t & I'm ready kinda bloke.

Our place (built 2016) has a bath in the main Bathroom, the Ensuite just has a nice big shower..

We spent the extra $$$ to specify a much nice, larger bath than the standard one as my Son was having a few bath's a week (these days he showers more often than not but still has a bath sometimes) and my wife uses it in Hockey Seasons to sooth her sore body.. Radox and/or Epsom Salt. I don't think we would have a place without one..

corRECT - Roostercam you need to get your process corRECTed, smelly mate smelly

IMO whatever suits you re bath tubs - its just become more popular not having one to reduce costs and making more space as city people are more and more adjusting their lives to less room, smaller blocks, apartment shoe box living etcetc.....
