Default Decent Clamps for Battery Charger

I’m surely not the only person here who’s “over” rubbish clips/clamps on battery chargers and other similarly connected devices. Always low quality plating over steel, always the steel breaks through and corrodes.

Are there any durable clamps to suit soldering/crimped termination, with insulated grips? Cast or stamped brass is probably ideal.

I have a set of these for my charger which can be interchanged with other devices.

You can also get these at www.alltronics.com.au

What are the actual clamps like? Have been contemplating going Anderson with eye terminals for the regularly charged cars, this might be a step in the same (compatible) direction.

I’m a bit suspect on the Amazon ones as they look like brass plated steel, not “copper”.

Maybe not suit your application but I regularly charge batteries using a portable large solar array wired with 30 amp Narva ring terminals using wing nuts on the battery terminal ends for quick disconnect.

Best way I've found to make a solid contact.

I've always been fond of this style

https://www.repco.com.au/globes-batt...hoC3f4QAvD_BwE

Or this style and fit your own connector to the charger

Looks like its time for a trip to CoolDrive/ JAS/ Ashdowns/ AEA.

I found having accounts at all of the above if one didn't have something the next one would,
saying that CoolDrive and AEA were probably the best for heavier hardware.

Don't expect to find quality sparkies or trades quality at Repco/supacr** etc,
they just either have never done it or just aren't in that market anymore.

They are decent clamps in my opinion, they have a good strong clamp feel and not too big or small if you get my drift, best I've seen from what you get from any auto shops.

Through internet search i have found, the NOCO GC017 Battery Clamp Connector is a popular choice for its sturdy construction and secure grip. It features durable alligator clamps with copper-plated jaws that provide excellent conductivity. The clamps are also equipped with built-in safeguards to prevent overcharging and reverse polarity.

Yes looks like solid brass to me per per https://beryllium-copper.com/2020/09...ing-materials/ and the brass pipe fittings and cast copper fittings you get in Bunnings etc e.g. https://www.bunnings.com.au/brasshar...union_p0252404 and https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/70494489

....but, in any event, in your opening post you said:

Cast or stamped brass is probably ideal.
Why not ask the listed Australian buyer on Amazon to confirm they are solid copper brass?

“copper”.

All copper would be way too soft to be adequate.
