Holy Bejedus, it looks like some kind of crazy mechanical elephant has been stuffed under the bonnet and some how integrated into the driveline. 1800 hp is just crazy is it even drivable?

that number was innaccurte as a temp sensor failure lead to the wrong correction factor being applied... the actual number was likely to be in the 13-1400hp range...

judging by the bolt pattern that holds the engine plate on the engine and the width of the engine and the manifold it looks like the stroker from the VH. Thats some serious ****.

it's 2 turbos.. the round grey bits behind the front part of the turbo is known as the turbine, which is the part where the exhaust gasses flow through, which in turn, by a shaft and impellors, turns the compressor at the front, which creates the compressed air.

Seen him try and blow this engine up last year. He gave it a good shot too but only managed to blow up the plenum lol. He was trying to blow it up so he could build a twin turbo ls1.

People say dyno's are boring, but listening and watching to this thing is awesome. Loudest bastard I have ever heard.

And good on him, showin you eastern states boys how its done in the west :P

I hope they don't do what they did in U.S in some of there power adder classes...
By using TWO turbo's , they are saying using TWO power adders.. Like turbo and N20...The S/C briggade would say that! Single turbo's cought up in no time though...Imo its all B/S ....Well done good engineering....

Taken from another forum:

June 11 2006 - Perth AME show spectacular
This weekend saw some staggering figures at the dyno comp staged at the AME show in Perth. Competition stalwart Eddie Tassone’s twin turbo Commodore ute had the crowd in an absolute frenzy after reaching an indicated 1643 HP in its first run of the final. The second run brought the house down with what was thought to be a world record of 1895 HP!
The crowd had given Eddie a standing ovation before the final when it was revealed he had worked on the ute for over 60 hours straight to prepare it for the competition and the result seemed more than fitting to the emotionally hyped audience.
In the end it was revealed that the inlet air temperature indication was very high – thus raising the dynos’ power calculation. An examination of the results by the software techs at Dyno Dynamics revealed that the final run might not have been a world record but would almost certainly have eclipsed the national competition record by a substantial margin.
Given that the final run was terminated by Eddie prior to maximum safe RPM – due to the dyno displaying a warning message – the power that may have been achieved on the day will forever remain a mystery.
In any case, Eddie Tassone has once again shown his undoubted ability and dedication with another dominant performance. Dyno Dynamics congratulates him and the event organisers, AME, for putting on a great show.

What i can't understand is that your not allowed to register a TT v8 in wa yet Tassone is Wa based WTF, top effort on bolting that machine together tho. Besides the dodgy dyno reading that thing is a beast.

Be good to see someone go all out on a Ford like that.

As discussed on Performance forums -

The intake sensor died creating a correction factor of around 135-140% ie the car only made 1350-1400HP which is only slightly higher than what it made last year (comparitavly speaking).
