VOLVO is not a big name in the world of hotrods, but when one of Sweden’s most skilled specialist car constructors is building a car, you can bet there will be some hometown influences. Pictured here is the Caresto V8 Speedster, a mid-engined car with an ethanol powered 340hp 4.4L Volvo V8 unit, designed and constructed by Leif Tufvesson.
Already a winner of the 2004 “Hotrod of the year” from Hotrod Magazine, Tufvesson decided to build a completely new car to showcase his talents on his own work. Tufvesson has previously worked for the Volvo Concept Center, and before that for Swedish sports car manufacturer, Koenig. Those seats look like the ones in my mum's old XD taxi. Where do they fit the usual Volvo 10 airbags?

The same guy also made another roadster based on a Volvo in 2005
   and the 2006 model       I bet if you drive on of these you get called a Bloody Volvo driver for a whole of different reasons |

Looks very similar to the Chrysler prowler from a few years back!
I gotta say that 1 bloody Volvo that gonna get alot of credit. When is it coming into production and i didn't even know volvo had V8

Volvo make some decent cars these days and have some cool turbo engines going around. Btw, I drive a volvo now... it's a pity it happens to be one of those old ones

i love the pure eligance of the car.
and the style... but why Volvo! lol shoulda put a BMW motor in it... maybe outa the new M5/6.... we can all dream can't we

Can you imagine Volvo crash testing one? The pain and agony of just watching it crash would be unbearable....whilst the test results would probably bring unbearable pain and agony to the Volvo boffins!

This a custom Volvo Coupé design by Bo Zolland for a custom car and Volvo collector in Arizona. 1966 Amazon 2 Door is the base, but with added custom tricks and coupé roof. The front and grille are little modified due to identification visibility. The car will have a Volvo 2004 S-80 T-6 engine/trans and rear wheel drive, modern brakes etc. Air ride suspension and a mix of modern Volvo and Vette components in chassis |
