Looks like SYNC3 is on the way; http://www.motoring.com.au/ford-mond...sync-3-103041/

I wonder if this can be upgraded on ours?

it's a hardware upgrade along with software, so no for existing Sync2 owners.

I ordered a Mondeo Titanium on 9th June, and they told me I will have it by October 10. I facebooked Ford Australia asking why there is a delay, and their answer was factory is at full capacity. I asked then whether my Mondeo would be equipped with the Sync 3 system. Their replpy was no, we are not introducing Sync 3 on Mondeo......hmmm, whats this then? Sends them a link to the press release on their own website. They came back with models build after June 2016 will have the upgrade. Lucky for me mine is scheduled to be built late August. Hopefully they will be able to upgrade the ones on their way here in Australia for the other people who have ordered it. You can check your production apparently with the NSC number. I didn't know this until they explained what it is.

Congrats. I've never tried Sync 3, hope to do so at some point. Although most reports indicate that it's light years ahead of Sync 2, personally I prefer the GUI of Sync 2 to Sync 3. The four quadrant design just makes sense.

Sync 3 is much much better. Faster with a screen like a smart phone. A lot more intuitive to use then sync 2. But sync 2 looks better to me where sync 3 looks like a pc screen

I only wish it was that simple to upgrade from Sync 2 to Sync 3 in my MD Mondeo.
90 % of the time i get that frustrated with the Navigation ( even with this years upgraded maps ) i end up using Google Maps on my phone !
Just recently the Navigation tried to direct me onto the Western Highway from Bacchus Marsh on to a road which has never existed or even look like will be a road in the future. Please Ford we need an upgrade. Just admit it the system sucks ! Rant over

Trading up already? What's the backstory (if there is one)?

Edit to add: did they put more horses into the 2017 build?

Pick up tomorrow, but I am lead to believe it is Sept 16 Build / Dec 16 Compliance, these are called MY17.

I have had 3 MC Titaniums and this is my 2nd MD Titanium.
No extra power, still 177kw / 345Nm.

No real back story, just get bored sometimes...

Put your VIN into this website: https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do

It will tell you the exact date your car was built and a whole bunch of other info about your particular vehicle.
