Default On to XR5 number two!

Yep its ADW (Another Damn Whitey).

My trusty old 07 LS XR5 was still going strong with only 53kms but as my budget wasnt looking like stretching to an RS any time soon I decided it would be good to try and nab one of the last LV's before they all dry up. Pretty sure I scored the last white with leather in WA, was keen for a Sea Grey but very happy with my whitey. Got quite a good trade-in price considering it had been hail damaged and repaired.

I swapped bluey back to stock so I have the full GGR ST300+ kit, Eibachs and Whiteline RARB ready to fit to the new car following the 3000km POM check. The Focus badge is gone, footwell lights in, silicone boost pipes on and GGR CAI is on too and I tidied up the canister a bit as it was a little beaten up. Gave it a good clean, I asked the dealership not to clean it to limit swirl marks and looks like I will need a clay-bar kit as there is a bit of fallout on the paint. Tint to come next week hopefully if I get time.

Very happy so far and based on how it sounds already I think it will be good at backfiring once the goose goes on

Enough talk, time for pics...

Absolutely mint, love it
I had to settle for an LX 5 door auto because my superior half hates manuals and she capped me at 23K. Yep, she wears the trousers.
But a very fine example you have there!

White with leather! Well I'm jealous.

Could only find black or grey with leather when I was looking at newys so I gave up. Too hard to keep clean.

Might buy one second hand next year.

Looks fantastic. That photo's not on Dianella Drive is it?

Weren't at lake monger this morning were ya? Was a bunch of 5's there.

Oh and 4 RS's... all the same green colour... Not so rare now are ya? :

Still contemplating an xr5, but seeing you got the last white one with leather i'll just give up now.

Hoping to find a LV around the 30k mark. Some dealers are still holding new 2010 stock!!

Probably crispy. there was a cruise with the xr5 owners meeting up and what better reason for a cruise than a member get's a new car?! :P

I was looking at the pics of the cruise and there was a bunch of greenies...which I would still own a greenie, there seems to be more and more kicking around everywhere but sydney...maybe no-one wants to associate themselves with our friend pistol pete... haha

Yuo may find an LV new around $31k cause that was the least i've seen people picking them up for on a lease, but all the stock will be 2010 stock as they ceased production in 2010. You won't find any 2011 XR5's nor will you find any LVII XR5's. If someone tries to tell you that these exist, leave that showroom immediately. :P

Nice car crispy. ;) You know I like it. :P

Yep, that was us having a bit of a gathering and the pics were Dianella Drive too

Dont give up so easy, they should be able to source stock from the Eastern states if you are really keen. I think there were still a couple of white with cloth and stripes but you can get the stripes removed.

They are a great value car at the moment too.

I recently got my Performance Blue LV (last one from Ford Australia, supposedly) after searching for 2 weeks for a white one WITH leather... Consider yourself lucky! You have one of the rare ones. It looks nice and clean - Nice work on the photos.

Blasphemy! I only wish I could have a personal stockpile of new 5 cyl motors or complete XR5 Turbos so I can have a new one every few years.

My last XR5T was up to 225kws at the fly so power is not a problem, traction is. Plus the new one is butt ugly, whistles like a kettle and will have no 5 pot growl.

Thanks guys.

Compare the sound of these two and tell me which one is better...

Yeah that new 4-pot sounds like a diesel truck

The engine note is reason enough to buy an XR5.
