Standard, Lowered or Superlow?

I dont even know which type of springs i have in my AU.

I think i may have superlow as the *** of my car is around 9cm off the pavement which makes it extremely hard to get places sometimes...

I need to change my springs...

I have the pedders equivilant to super lows and have plenty of clearance.

You'd probably have ultra lows

whats the lowest front springs you can get for the AU with out changing all your shocks ?

I have the standard XR spec springs in the AU which suits me fine as it looks nice, im not that keen on slamming it and losing the ride comfort.
My previous e-series cars which i didnt worry about as much had superlows and i had quite abit of trouble with clearances but they looked good.

you can go ultra low if you want lol, but the shocks wont like it to much and will be well and truly rooted within 10 000 kays at most. even with lows you should get an appropriate short throw shock to go with it.

if its 90 mm clearance there ultralows, i had superlows clearance was about 105mm, i have just put ultras in so yeah is around 90mm.

I have a series 1 XR6 and it has 100% factory suspension. I would like it an inch lower but its manly the wife that drives it and I don't want to be replacing broken front bars from gutters, so I'll stick to the factory stuff.

I've got Kings lows in mine from the previous owner and I dont have any issues.

I went for king lows. super lows look better but I need to Drive onto building sites so it can't be to low

I have lows but half a coil on the rears seems to have disappeared ;)

We drive long trips three or four times per year and lows is as low as I can reasonably go given some of the dirt roads we travel.

edit: which has reminded me to download pics from camera to pc of our recent trip

This is the backway between Taree and Wauchope. In places we were down to 30kph. Nice country though... but not if the car is too low.

I have superlows in the front, and probably the equivalent of ultra lows in the rear.
Front dropped 55mm, rear dropped 70mm and has settled some more since.

Mine is standard.. I'll be looking to lower to XR height next year when the mrs hits the age requirement to join an insurer who doesn't mind mods.

I had superlows in my XR8 and XR6 (lows are equivalent to XR height) - both cars handled fine.

I have superlows in my NF all round, and SL in the front of the EL, and lows in the back. I have stock ride height in the explorer, though would love to lower it about 2 inches (bloody expensive though, compared to AUs, and not enough coils for part of one to just disappear!).

I'm not sure to be honest but 1/2 coil sits it level.

That's a lot better than the two bags of cement, 1/2 cu metre of sand, 6 12v batteries and the fat kid from up the road that I used to have in the boot to get it to sit level ;)

Mine are back to standard ATM... but they were Superlows... still got them...

I'm on Kings Ultralows/super superlows at the moment...the factory shocks certainly died in the space of 1000 odd kays though.

Looks good, a bit impractical, but even that means just going slow and been careful. Didn't affect the handling in a negative way either :evil3:

SL in mine. I still have good ride comfort and the only thing that ever scrapes is my tow bar, handy thing that is.

I got king ULs in my forte, 75mm drop, sits 5" above ground. Still running standard shocks, must've done at least 10k kms on them too but it aint comfy.

I had SSL's on my AU3. The only thing I had to do was to get the wheel guards rolled up. Other than that, they were very low...and stiff as.

I have stock standards on at the moment, but will look at low or superlows later. Just depends on what they are like comfort wise.

Damn, must be the ultra lows. I am pretty certain i have standard shocks too, it feels like it anyways. Always feels like the shocks are half compressed or sumn, slight bump and it feels like the chassis goes up and down for 5 seconds before it reaches equilibrium height.

Must get them changed over

Superlows for me. I want lows though, I have a family now, and SL's are a bit to low when the cars loaded.

You can't beat SSL kings springs for a ute ,if i had a sedan I would go full coil over then you can get any hight you wanted but can be a bit pricy

since ultralows does your rear end knock around, mine does bad, i need the shortened shockers cos the factory ones a re to tall and springs to short, the shock is out of range i think im bottomingout or sumthing, not a majoe issue but the SHOCKERs are wrecked

I have standard XR6 front and low rear Kings. Made the car look so much nicer.
