I reckon should be mandatory, like L and P plates, that way you know the ****ers with those R plates are going to be driving 30 under the limit in the right lane so you can chop them at the soonest opportunity that presents itself. We all know that the sign with the number with the red circle is the minimum speed you should be going |

O-plates for old people who can't get within 20kmh of the limit
B-plates for blind people who can't keep between the lines where does it end? bloody silly idea. If you aren't comfortable, then stay off the road, |

Don't forget the 'I' plates for idiots who don't know how to use their indicators, and 'S' plates for snowflakes who speed up when an overtaking lane approaches.

However, if one is nervous, they should stay off the road. I personally think people who have lost confidence or are nervous should get professional help rather than be thrown in the deep end only to potentially cop abuse from disgruntled drivers. Yes we should show more compassion to these ones, but it goes both ways.

The original intent of "Baby on Board" signs, was to alert emergency services and others that if the vehicle was in an accident, fire or rollover there may be a not easily seen baby in the vehicle that needs to be rescued. Emergency services and others originally promoted the use these signs. Unfortunately and sadly, too many people now think it means "drive carefully near me as I have a baby in my car".

Given the lack of respect P platers often seem to get from many other drivers I have some significant doubts about how the "R : plate will work. I suspect some of the road bullies will take it as a signal to give them a hard time.

This would have to be one of the stupidest things I have heard in a while.
Remember, a whole chain of idiots signed this off. Do they come with yellow stars?

I find most idiots can be avoided by steering clear of utes and Camrys.

As I've aged I've realised that the roads are for everyone. Getting held up by a slower car doesn't really impact your life very much. So you lose 10seconds. Big deal.
I don't think we need more signs displayed in windows.

I've posted in other forums, its the most annoying thing about owning one they either switch off or stay on. so I guess most owners just stop using them...

This will most likely work the opposite of how they intend it. There are legit nutters who will target these people with R plates. 100%.
They will just mess with these people for a laugh. Such a dumb idea. |

Following on from displaying these plates, there will be a designated 'Safe Place' parking area every 5kms for them

That’s true. There will be also a few people who get R plates then drive like complete idiots and expect others to let them get away with it because they feel sorry for them.

If R plates are for nervous drivers, should they not just be put back on their L plates with an experienced non nervous driver?

You would have to be brave displaying R plates as you will be encouraging road rage from all the Nong's.

It’s definitely been a profile-raiser for the advertising agency. Well done!

Hi Guy's
Let me put my two cents worth on this subject. I've been driving a long time to know that some driver's on this earth are not meant to drive. One of those driver's is my Ex-wife i made sure when she was out in her car I wasn't because she was a very nervous driver. I think if your a nervous driver or a driver lacking confidence for your saftey and every body else who uses the road maybe its best Not To Drive. |

Generally the ones causing grief on the road are the ones that think they are gods gift to driving, not the nervous drivers.

O plates required for all the Oblivious.
These drivers already stand out but its nice to have a warning and maybe shaming them would led to them waking up a little |

How about Q plates? But I guess they're not really needed, you can see the number plates have letters & numbers reversed already... But I lived there on and off for 15 years and had so much trouble with them and roundabouts... Same here, when I see them driving around in Canberra. Keeps in the right lane, going left, straight or right.
