Default FPV badges on non-FPV Fords.

All,

Just want to gauge the response from the forums in regarding this burning question.

Always inspires good debate, here is an opportunity to let the numbers speak for themselves.

I personally think it shouldn't be done, and I liken it to putting Chev badges on a Holden.

Lets try to keep the debate on topic and not get personal!

Thread tentatively re-opened.

As soon as it starts going down hill again, it will be closed again. Everyone take that as a first and last warning and keep it civil, these ones usually turn ugly.

Answered yes just for the LOL's

Seriously though, if it's a performance vechile, and it's built by ford, who cares if it has an FPV or Ford badge....

It's not up to a forum to tell a person what they can/cant do....

Don't actually see a lot of it...the badges are probably expensive.

I remember back around 2000 when we owned a VX Lumina, and saw quite a few ratty looking VN-VP and VR-VS Commodores running around with those HSV badges on them...the chrome ring with the lion head and helmet in it...which go on in place of the normal Holden badge as you see on VS and later Commodores. I was curious, and asked how much they cost when we next were at the Holden dealer, and he said they were $60 each. Remember this was over 10 years ago, so it was a substantial sum. What amazed me was I regularly saw a couple of those crapbuckets that had three or four of those badges on them...one front and back, and one on each front guard...

I've seen the grille badge for the FPV, and it kind of looks a little bland...I sort of prefer the normal Ford badge.

Who cares really? Are the FVP owners offended by another car having a FPV badge? Surely not? There are more important things to be worried about in this world. I don't have any FPV badges and don't think I will put any on as they don't have any appeal for me. But I do have a FPR jacket

At the end of the day, it's your car, you do with it what you like. It won't appeal to everyone but variety is the spice of life. Whilst I had my WRX, it didn't offend me with other cars having a WRX scoop.

I agree mate, people with FPVs have laid down some decent coin for them, when someone puts an FPV badge on an XT for example IMO it takes away from the exclusivity of the badge.

Sorry I am guilty of this in a way as we put a set of GS stripes on my missus XW, when it's not a GS.

Ive had 3 FPV's and could not give a rats about what other people do with their Falcons. I had an FPV tonneau cover on my FG XR6... It didn't lose any sleep over it.

Some of you guys are like old women... Seriously :S

No FPV themselves destroyed any exclusitivity when FPVs started turning up with discos on their roofs and then later in ex-government auctions.

For all their faults and failings you have NEVER seen HSVs in any fleets.

My FPV has a Ford badge on it! I don't particularly care if someone wants to spend money on tarting up their car. Their money.

Good point about the fleets.

FPV don't even stock cars anymore... I went to a HSV dealer the other day and they would have had 45 HSV's in stock. My local FPV dealer would be lucky to have 10!

Then they wonder why HSV sells them 4 to 1.

If it's not a fpv from factory then it isn't a fpv, you wouldn't put a fiesta badge on your falcon nor would you put a gt badge on an xt,

What about ba-fg xr8s....

They are fpv cars but sold under ford badge. All boss motors are assembled at fpv, even on the rego papers the chasis number starts with fpv...

Maybe we can forgive boss powered cars but other cars its a no..

No different to non fpv cars wearing fpv wheels (or copies) holdens have been wearing hsv rims for years unscathed

(By the way my xr8 has a small fpv badge on both front guards on the strip. Just near front wheel. Previous owner put it on and I didn't remove it)
