Congratulations on the times from a 6.

How does this compare to other I6's as far as unopened goes?

A few V8's will have to start paying attention :Up_to_som

Now your talking...finally another decent number from a mild AU i6. This is a manual, yeah? I imagine it was pulling a pretty decent 60'?

Well done guys

That's a bloody awesome time!! Well done to all.

Anything changed with the car since it ran at Heathcote?

Is this car unopened?

I dunno about unopened....hasn't this car had the stock cam dialled in a little different to stock? I'll have to dig out the old thread.

Might have some shorter diff gears too?

Still, its a great ET given the mph. Must be driving the thing pretty well ;)

That is an *extremely* good time for an unopened XR6. Didn't know an intake, exhaust and edit could do that! :monkes:

I'll get the facts out of the way first.

AU XR6 HP. Auto.
Hi-stall
Diff gears
Vernier Gear
Difilippo exhaust and inlet pipe
CAI
Car prepared and enhanced by Aussie Car Enhancements
Car Custom tuned by Bluepower Racing Developments.

Note - at least 2 products from Brenden at Jim Mock Motorsport fitted to the car, thanks Brendan.

I consider the car to be "opened" as we removed the rocker cover to install the vernier gear, however the camshaft is the stock ford item, with a standard cylinder head in place.

To say I am STOKED with this result is an understatement.

To the people that questioned us from day one - this is the beginning.

To the people who have given us support in our AU project, and entrusted us with their vehicles, I say thanks.

My great mate for many years, Craig at Aussie Car, I feel with support from a shop like yours we are unbeatable. Thanks for setting up a car that is both a pleasure to tune, and a pleasure to drive. As usual, we have come out no 1.

Terry, thanks for letting me steer your car. I cant wait to fix the little "hiccup" so we can show these guys what these AU's are made of.

If anybody has any queries, or would like to inspect the car themselves, please feel free to ask.

Casper, PM me a PO box number. You doubted my work publicly buddy, and told me to get some timeslips, i'll chuck a few in the mail for you pal.....

Must hurry up now and get my AU one tonner out there, time to wake these I6 guys up.

I'm honered to get a mention personally.. nicely baited but no, I shall congratulate you on an excellent time. I'm planning to start running again fairly soom myself as Hamo's 14.30 has stood for well over a year now and needs to be beaten one of these days. I'd like to get there and beyond before the weather warms up myself.

Nice time tripower289 must be thrilled with your AU6; I remember when I did mine
12 + months ago it was sic for a 6.
Surprised it doesn’t have a Cam, how much power does it make and the 60, 660?
Bluepower, ACE, JMM & tripower289 I acknowledge all your efforts.
Go the Silver AU’s.

Ps: Almost makes me want to edit mine and put a nice converter in, & drag it out.
My Girl will slap me around if I race ‘’her’’ car.

Hi and thanks Hamo (and to everyone else who is interested).
To say I'm thrilled is an understatement. I was hoping for a .5 by the end of the night. To have a .39 on the third run on my normal road tyres (Dunlop SP 300a's are cheaper than Nittos) and then backed up on the next run, in the other lane was astounding.
60' times on 7 of 8 runs were 2.0 with 2.01 being the best.

The car has had no mechanical changes since it ran 14.7 at Calder on the 26th May but has been retuned to make the most of the DiFillipo intake pipe fitted after Heathcotes AFF meet.

The highest peak figure I have seen is 152 rwkw but it is now much fatter down low where it matters.

Unfortunately an intermittent problem Ive had since day one with this car, decided to become a constant problem on Friday afternoon, almost causing us to pull the pin.

I decided to get Chris to drive the car last night for a couple of reasons.
Firstly because I wanted to give him the opportunity to get a better feel for the car to help its future development.
Secondly to see if he could identify/drive around the problem (dodgy fuel pump)
and third, (but least importantly) I've been feeling like crap with the flu.

The main reason we don't have a cam in it (yet), is my No 1 criteria was that this car is my daily driver and retaining economy was very important to me.
The diff gears have affected it by about 15% and the cost of premium unleaded has obviously taken a toll but the car is still as smooth as ever to drive and an absolute credit to Craig and Chris.
Go "ACE Power"!!!

All you AU I6 Guys. You know where to go if you want to run big numbers.
Thanks again to all the well wishers.

Basically, yes. I do about 30,000ks a year and now having to run premium as well, the cost is starting to add up. However, changing gears again may be a false economy as I would have to save a lot of fuel to recover the cost of another set of gears and I dont plan to keep this car forever.
(I still have my original 3.45 centre if I get really stingy).

Well an excellent night for the ACE - Bluepower - Tri Power289 AU6 camp. What we achieved as a team last night was extrodinary, we would of been happy with our goal of running into the 14.4's but to go under was just great.

Don't know if i enjoyed the pit crewing side of things last night in the cold but to watch was interesting, it's amazing what you can pick up and you can actually learn some things.

Great job driving Chris (at least you were warm all night, did you get out of the car at all?). Now lets fix our little gremlin and get some consistency into the program.

Terry, mate forget about the fuel economy, lets get ET slips. If you want fuel economy go and get a Focus or toyota echo.....LOL......

Cheers Craig
