Default Ford Australia Archive opens in Melbourne

It's good to see that Ford treasures it's historical past and is making an effort to preserve it.

The Archive will function as a centralised historical information centre for the carmaker's local operations, and while it will not be open to the general public, a few lucky outsiders will get to take a peek from time to time.

"As resources permit, the archives team will also be able to serve individuals outside the company who have an interest in our history, including vehicle enthusiasts, the media, authors, video/film producers and a wide range of researchers, scholars and students.”

Ford has always had it all over Holden and Valiant for historical documents and information for owners.
With both the GT Cortina and TE Cortina rally Pack we owned, I sent to Ford with the cars details, and got back, free of charge, a big envelope with photocopies of the original order papers and options, where it was sold and who bought it, where it was built and exactly when, and with the GT they even sent a photocopy of an original owners handbook with the relevant pages about the differences between a GT and a normal Cortina. It was great stuff!

Valiant actually chucked out all their old paperwork and information when Mitsubishi took over, all going in the dumpsters...some was saved, but not much...

I agree that it's a pity the information is not online, I guess that it could be one day!
On another note I'm a recent AU owner and have issues with my Tickford six. I've replaced plugs, coil pack and leads but still have a very very sluggish start from from the line. I want to replace the fuel filter and try a substitute fuel pressure regulator. To do this I first need to locate these items. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated.

I got the ad for mini as well. When I refresh, I get Honda and BMW under the next refresh.
