Mitsibishi Lancer Coupe "heater Core "

my brother rang me today saying that there was steam inside thwe cabin of his car . and that the engine had overheated and the carpet wet with green coolant. wanted some advice .
diagnosis over the phone is water heater core . anyone know if dash has to come out in these to replace ? and what they are worth ? cheers .
