Angry Anybody in Melbourne got a cold or influenza?

I've been crook for nearly two weeks. This is the worst case I've had in decades. And the damn thing just keeps lingering. Over it.

Lots of people with minor bugs down this way atm. We've got a major outage on, with about 300 extra people on site, with many of them transient workers, so I expect it's only going to get worse.

Signs of getting older, you need to be careful and look after yourself, are you one for vaccination shots or don't believe in it?

Lots of crap going around. My dad has had whooping cough for over a month...its supposedly very contagious but I've not caught it...yet. No idea where he caught it from.

My cousin just recovered from pneumonia.

Take it easy.

I’ve had incredible lethargy since the ‘flu of early July, all my basic observations (temperature, oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood sugar) check out fine-to-good, so it’s likely just a lingering side-effect.

Antibiotics. No mask, he passed out 3 times whilst having the "cough", so he has stayed home. It should be called whoopingspew, cos when he coughs it sounds more like dry reaching

There's a lot of RSV around see https://www.health.gov.au/diseases/r...-rsv-infection and https://www.health.vic.gov.au/immuni...s-immunisation and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxt0MKYunMo . It can kill us old buggers that have any co-existing chronic health conditions. Aren't you like me seeing all Government awareness Ads on Radio TV and social media with Ita Buttrose Per https://au.gsk.com/en-au/media/press...ness-campaign/ etc

I love that Ita advert disguised as a government awareness campaign. All the small print at the bottom of the screen for GSK.

This seems to be the new norm of big pharma companies scaring everyone into thinking they all on the brink of death.

Ive had more colds this year than in any previous.
Didnt get my flu shot this year so it may be that.

Picked up a nasty head cold a month ago that didnt spread to my chest but caused rediculous amounts of thick mucous, a recurring headache and dry cough that lingered for 2 weeks.
Just started feeling normal last week and have come home from Bathurst with more cold symptoms.

I copped pneumonia along with the family ... they all recovered after about a week ... I didn't ... and ended up in hospital for over a week.

Never been that crook in my life.

I get home ... one week into recovering ... my eldest got COVID from school ... which I inturn got ... took just over a week to recover from that (it felt like the common cold compared to the pneumonia.

And a few days after getting over that .... I got the Flu off my youngest two boys. And that was worse than COVID.

I've had my fair share for a few years now.

I had whooping cough about 20 years ago and it sucks bad.

I was coughing so hard I vomited to the point I had a bucket at the ready and I even managed to burst a blood vessel in my nose so once that was gone I was dealing with some pretty bad nose bleeds for years later.

I don't get them often now but when I do they are bad.
