Default What's a motor factor?

G'day all,

Back home we call businesses that retail pattern replacement parts, mostly to the motor trade, a 'motor factor'. What are these under in the yellow pages over here?

Cheers,
Alex

Motor replacement parts, or Motor accessories - retail would be your best bet in the yellow pages. Main chains are Repco, Autobarn, Supercheap Auto, Autopro, Bursons, etc.

Sounds like we need to work on a pommy-aussie car terminology dictionary for you! I'll start with a few:

wing = guard (front), quarterpanel (rear)
nearside = left hand side/passenger side
offside = rhs/driver's side

Ask any you're wondering about though!
breakers = wreckers
