Yes it's real, I've seen the interview with the bloke who built the car. He's not sure what the blower is off, but suspects it was originally used for aviation.

The car itself, as of the interview, had not actually been used with it on, as the first time he started it he gave it a 'blip' of the throttle and it blew both head baskets. The bloke in question is apparently pretty well known in the bracket racing scene. I'll try and pull up the interview on youtube.

Linky Linky

[edit]

ehh, not aviation, train ... and I can't tell whether he said he did or did'nt make a pass with it.

[/edit]

the blower is from a frieght train. i have seen the interview. when he installed it the motor turned over. when he hit the throttle a little bit, he lifted the front wheels and blew both head gaskets. so he took it off.

It blew both headgaskets because he didn't have enough fuel to go with the boost.

It'd work with fuel.

Oh, and in that interview, the interviewer knows exactly jack squat.

He's like, oh man, did ya need to get a custom belt for that thing??

That'd be the least of the guys worries. A custom manifold would be number one concern, along with fuel system.

The belt means jack shiz.
