5c and a container of pringles?

Haha, only kidding mate!!...

I would guess around 3.5k-5k easily for your Fairmont... It's neat, it's reliable, it goes hard.

btw, good luck when you do sell it...

Id say $2500.
In the eyes of most, mods mean the car has had a hard life.
The panel damage doesnt help your cause either.

yeah id say 2.5/3.5.

i just paid close to 3 for my au3 forte (fairmont clone) with rwc and rego till xmas.
as said mods dont add value, and that panel damage hurts value hard.

3K top if you can find someone who isn't scared off by the mods. Otherwise 2.5.

with the panel damage? $2k. Without? 3-3.5k. Provided it's mechanically sound and roadworthy.

As is 3K will pull it up, damage doesn't help and being S1 doesn't either with the horrible single pot front calipers, the S1 brakes are not the best.
As said the mods don't help unless you find the right buyer. Generally not a bad looking fairmont though, good luck

Geez, these estimations of 3-3.5k are making my eyes water. It just means this is what I got to expect should I sell my car. Makes me think, don't bother and just stick it in the shed or drive the car till its dead.

Good luck with it Poelwyk. Hope you dont have too many reservations for a reserve price.

What about pulling some of the mods off and selling them separately, aiming to get the car back to stock and more cash overall?

I'm in the same boat....everytime I think about what I would get if I sold it etc, I come to the conclusion not to bother and just keep driving it...might as well keep it as a 2nd car if I end up getting something else...

This conclusion is what I guess we are all coming to terms with. Fun having the car and wanting to keep it. Not so fun when your trying to get back 10% of what you spent on the car when it comes to selling. Frankly for me, its stupid me selling it. I'd rather see it put in the shed under a tarp than flog my car off for a measily 3k. Its futile. Even if I sold all my parts and put it back to stock, I may gain another 4-5k. But then there is the headaches of selling all the crap and then finding stock parts to put back on. (I knew I should have kept some of the parts)

Bottom line is, don't sell unless you have to.

Yep. AU's have pretty much hit the bottom of their real value. Whilst you have an AU that is roadworthy and everything works on it with no real damage, it'll be worth $3k or thereabouts for a fairly long time.

just sold my AU3 SR a few weeks ago for $4.5k after being offered $2k for a trade in. i was happy enough to let it go for the $4.5k rather than hold out for months waiting for a better offer.

this was on nsw central coast. i had it on carsales for $5300 with no interest, it sold by parking it on the side of a main road with 'for sale' stickers on it..

It's getting to the point where you make more money by parting out rather than selling whole. I'm at $4500 and still going from parting my XR8. It was accident damaged rather badly though.
