Default B6 and B6-2E differences

Hi all,

I have a KF Laser fitted with the 16V Carby 1.6 and Auto, (I believe is a B6-2E ??). The motor in it had punched a hole in the block so it needs replacing. A friend of mine had one sitting around so i planned to use this, except it only turns over half way and stops...Think it's slipped a bearing or ring (looked into it). Now I am looking at getting a 1.6 carby from an KC-KE (believe it is the B6??) and it comes with auto attached. But I would like to use my Auto if possible, Am I assuming right that both motors been a B6 that the block is the same and will bolt up?? The other thnig I would like to do is fit the 16Valve head of the KF motor If that will fit the older block

Thanks heaps

Dave

I'm pretty sure the bottom ends are the same, it's just the head that's different, but knowing Mazda I wouldn't be surprised if a bolt is moved 3mm to the left, or it's threaded the wrong way somewhere causing the whole thing to be useless.

Where abouts are you? I'll have a B6-2E pulled from my (running nicely) KH shortly (turbo BP conversion), but I'm in Adelaide
