Hi Everyone,
Just bought a LS 06 Focus for the wife, she picked it up and drove for a couple days. Now she complained about vibration in the cabin. Checked it out on the other night, there does seem to be a vibration in the cabin, took it back to Ford and asked them to check engine mounts as i thought it might be on of the mounts. They said all 06 Focus's vibrate like this, ok I left and got around the corner and the engine light came. Took it straight back and they had it for the day. Turned out the choke assy was stuffed and they replaced it. While talking with the service guy I said"so that may have caused fuel consumption to go up". He said no, it has nothing to do with fuel consumption. I think this guy is full of ****. They also inspected engine mount and said they are ok. Again I think he is of full ****. They old Hyundai we traded in had no vibration and it 200,000k on it. Focus has 80,000 on it. Any ideas? |

Engine runs good and has power, when it is running you can put your hand on it and it has stuff all vibration.
It just seems to transfer vibration to the cabin, looked at the top engine mount and i can push my finger nearly all the way to the bottom as far as I know these are supposed to be oil filled to absorb vibration. Going out now to test drive another 06 Focus at a different dealer to compare. |

Sounds like a transmission issue. I wouldn't blame transmission without checking it personally but this could be a possibility.

Vibration has reduced, maybe the new choke assy has helped.
I run this on 98 fuel, not sure weather the dealer had 98 in the tank. would not surprise me if they had been using 95 or 91. Does seem to be getting better, will take it for a long drive tomorrow |

I had a softened top engine mount like yours, along with the cabin vibration.
I replaced the engine mount and the vibration was gone. |
