Well after righting off my Turbo'd EF Fairmont 4 weeks ago I finally got another car on friday!
Its a White EB Falcon Spac, 5 Speed, LSD, 270,000k's. For what I pay'd for it, It wasnt a bad buy. I have a few questions to ask though: -Will my diff gears out of my EF fit? -Are short shiter kits available for them and how much -Is converting it to twin thermos a hard job? -Will my slotted rotors from my EF fit on the front? Any help would be muchly apreciated. I'll think of more things and post them when they come to me. Thanks Toby PICS! Last edited by toby123; 05-04-2005 at 07:10 PM. |

maybe what ratio diff is in there now? is it an EB or EBII? Are short shiter kits available for them and how much yes svo make a short shifter kit, or bpt sell shorter gear sticks which are very good and a good price (site sponsor) Is converting it to twin thermos a hard job? its not very hard check out this website i made on it: http://users.tpg.com.au/adsleq58/thermo/index.htm Will my slotted rotors from my EF fit on the front? i'm pretty sure they will.. but i dont know for sure |

We want pics! Whether it's 3.9 or 4.0 they're rare as hen's teeth.
Tommi, the internal gears should still swap over, the only issue could be that the series 1 and earlier had 25 spline axles. |

Gears will swap over, as long as the spline is the same.
SVO Lightening Shifter will make the gearbox feel very noce. I wouldnt be without mine.

Yes a 4 Litre means it is a Series 2, in manual format they are great car to start something special with.

If it doesnt have ABS the brake rotors from your EF wont fit, assuming it had ABS. 99.9% of them do though, and im pretty sure all Fairmonts did.

ABS was only standard on on the EB Ghias and XRs (series II) and was optional on all others. All EFs except the GLi had it. The S in question just might have it.

Will my EF alternater fit straight on? as i dont think the little 70 amp alt will charge the standard battery and 2 optima YT's to well And whats the shortest throw shocks available for the E Series? as i have U/Lows but want shorter shocks before i fot them. Dan, I was a ******** and it bit me on the ****! literally! The power it had was awsome! I want to get a few debts out of the way then the turbo stuff will be going on. old_mate, I have a few bits and pieced's left from the monty, mainly interier stuff and a few body panels. Thanks Toby |

can't change the alternator without putting the full EF/EL belt setup on.
rotors will go on no probs, we've fitted EF ghia rotors to an EA before, might just need different wheel nuts.

Uodated first post with a couple pics.
There is a couple of things needed doing. -Front bumper needs to be re clipped on on the passenger side -rear bumper is sagging a little bit on the drivers side (if i tak eit off and re-fit it will that fix it or is there a way to fix it?) -Back window needs retinting It was an absalute bargain considering the nick its in, the interier is in awsome condiion(digi cam ran out of battery before i could get any pics, except for the shifter :P ) Toby

The diff should fit. I had an LSD EF diff in my Falcon for a while. You just need to pull the brakes/caliper mounts off your EB diff and bolt them up to the EF housing.
The sway-bar mount is a little bit different, but I got around that by using a different bolt. If you just want to change the internals they should be identical. - John |

Ah cool, yeah just want to put the 3.7's in this housing as the EB is already LSD, My EF had a mini spool in it so i just want the gears.
Thanks Toby
