Heathcote Rd between Engadine and Pleasure Point without a doubt, but see it didn't get a mention in the last survey. Not just because of the volume of accidents (which there are plenty and probably on average one fatality every 3 months) but also the problem that, when its closed due to accidents it's a nightmare for many to get home along those suburbs backing onto it. Its the only thoroughfare from South Coast to Liverpool (apart from the even worse Appen Rd) and is not what you'd call a suitable road given the volume of traffic that uses it.

Done and done.
It's a hard choice out there ... just sick of the pockmarked roads everywhere in Sydney ... and sick of having to get wheels fixed due to council complacency and lack of accountability. Sick of changing lanes to miss lane-width craters on the Great Western Highway.

Surely Parramatta road should get an honorable mention! The road surface is terrible around Auburn.

It's terrible for the majority of it. But I think Sydney-siders are used to it.
Probably why there's so many 4WDs on our roads ... less likelihood of bent rims ... LOL

Newell Highway between Gundy and Narrabri should be getting a mention, but not enough people travel it to make a difference even though its one of the biggest national transport routes in the country.

Broke Rd from Pokolbin in the hunter valley is one of the worst/roughest stretches of road I'v ever seen. For an area serving huge amounts of tourists it's an embarrassment

I'd say parramatta rd is right up there!

Took the Putty Road several years ago thinking it was a 'short cut' to tamworth from Sydney
Did it in the middle of the night and almost wiped out a roo that was taller than the Festiva... I think I saw another car every 30 min... middle of nowhere is an under statement!

Used to live off the Putty .... and it's been redone down Colo end .... but the further you get up the road the progressively worse it gets.
