AMG C63 Coupe "Black Series"

After reporting the latest details yesterday, first photos of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe have surfaced.

Snapped during a test event at Circuit Paul Ricard in one of the garages, the exclusive AMG Coupe is not as hardcore as the previous generation CLK 63 AMG Black Series. Not only is it the first Black Series to have four seats, but it has been configured more towards everyday street use. Only 20 kg (44 lbs) have been shed from the vehicle's curb weight.

In line with yesterday's report, the Black Series Coupe with its 6.2-liter V8 produces 517 PS (380 kW / 510 bhp) which is 30 PS (22 kW / 30 bhp) more than the C63 AMG with the Performance Package. Shifting is performed by the seven-speed 'Speedshift' MCT automatic with a limited slip differential. Torque is rated at 640 Nm (472 lb-ft). Despite no official specs released, 0 to 100 km/h should take about 4 seconds.

Interestingly, the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe will not be limited in production and the price should come in around €100,000 in Germany, much less than the BMW M3 GTS at €137,000.

i would not swap my car for one.... unless i could sell it and buy my car back and profit

I reckon I'd take one in black as well.
In Germany it will cost 100,000 euros, which is $133,000AUD
So here you will be able to buy one for probably over $250,000AUD once they add all the ******** taxes.

All those false looking guards etc can go get. The regular AMG looks a million times better.

It also looks like the rear wheel is smaller than the front wheel?

Remember Clarkson when he said that some motoring writers complained and said the Hundai coupe looked "too much like a Ferrari". Nothing really to do with the color.

The original black series (CLK) was designed as a race car from the start, it was born from the F1 CLK safety car

It had some extensive work done to it to ensure it can run consistently fast laps around tracks and be driven on the road.

As this one is not created the same way there is debate as to whether it will be too "soft" to be called a black series.

I was beside on yesterday and while he was never full noise with it, I thought it sounded awful. It was if he had a marble rolling around in his mufflers.

Must have had a busted muffler, because they sound absolutely fantastic from idle through to redline.

I'd happily leave the "Black" version to somebody else and I'll take the 'regular' AMG C63 instead. Lovely car, great road weapon, and that glorious 6.2 V8 on full song......

Ill never forget the day i was driving down the coast and i spotted a black C63 AMG with P plates on it an a young chick driving it i put the window down to hear it.
