I know there are alot of Victorians on this site, so I was wondering what they think about the State of Origin game being held in Melbourne? Any body have plans to go and see this event, and where your loyalties would lie? Does Victoria hate NSW and much as us red (sorry, i meant maroon) blooded queenslanders? All issues of League vs AFL aside, this is one of the biggest events in Australian sport, so im keen to know what the Vics think. I know how important we take it :

I would go, and I'd say that i would follow the blues, not being from there, but just disliking queenslanders.

Why would you hold a NSW vs QLD match in Victoria. I can understand the swans vs the bears (AFL) as they were both previously victorian clubs or had some sort of affiliation with a Victorian team.

I think it would be a flop for 2 reasons. 1, vic is predominantly and AFL state and 2, its qlf and nsw.

i think the major reason is to kick up some more interest in the sport in Vic.
there was talk of the Melbourne Storm going under because no one supported them or wanted to play for them. i cant see it being anywhere near as 'BIG' of an event being held in Vic. and you can imagine what would happen if no-one showed up. i think it will flop
