Hi all,
next few days i will be installing driving lights into my EL. i want to know how many watt globes i should get? i have seen 55 and 100 watt at supercheap. The lights will be on at the same time as the low beams so i was thinking the 100 watt light would be to bright but i am not to sure. those with driving lights what setup do you have? Cheers

I would recommend to talk to one of the staff possible at supercheap or autobarn or repco they would able to help you. But in fitting its just matter of wiring with the headlights relay

i dont suggest talking to the staff at supercheap.
repco is better. supercheap half the staff are to young to even have a license let alone know anything about cars. repco actually has mechanics. |

you know that running driving lights off low beams is illegal.......
dont run 100w globes in driving lights on low beam anyway, thats worse than having your high beams on at someone...... |

you'll find that they're fog lights, and if you have them on in conditions that dont warrant them, you'll cop a fine

In NSW it is.
You can only use them if the conditions are poor. BenJ

Road Rule 217 Using rear fog lights (1) The driver of a vehicle fitted with a rear fog light must not operate the fog light unless the driver is driving in fog or other hazardous weather conditions causing reduced visibility. Offence provision. (2) In this rule: rear fog light means a light fitted to a vehicle to make it more easily visible from the rear in fog. Road Rule 219 Lights not to be used to dazzle other road users A driver must not use, or allow to be used, any light fitted to or in the driver’s vehicle to dazzle, or in a way that is likely to dazzle, another road user. So I did a search on keyword "fog lights" and got this: Quote:
But that is all the research I'm going to do in NSW. I'm a Victorian copper, I don't care what happens in other states. |
