Yeah I think maybe one Mitsubishi had a V4?????
Meanwhile Inline Fours are probably the most common while on FordForms the Inline Six is a staple... |

The V in V6 and V8 isn't there for no reason, it signifies the arrangement of the cylinders in relation to the crankshaft. Hence a V8 has 4 cylinders on either side of the crankshaft making a V shape. A V6 has 3 per side etc. The inline engine has all cylinders in one line. Now the W (as in W16 etc) is a bit more complex...

I drive a 4cyl daily (Toyota Camry) and an EFI V8 in an older car every now and again (When it's running properly :P)
