You have around 170rwkws + waiting for you with a unichip and exhaust mate. But a good effort for a standard car and it looks awesome

Yeah. Mines a perfect example.. I think i started with a little more power than that (mines a 200 motor), and i make 165 odd.. and thats cat back exhaust.. would prob break into the 170's with a decent set of extractors

I could go into the advantages of the edit over interceptor.. But we could be here all day Anyways, This is Matts thread

That's not a bad result. Just for comparison, mine made 147.9 with 3" exhaust (but stock headers) and YT2027 RRs. So 144 is a great base to work from. I'll be getting mine dyoned again next Saturday on petrol - only mods since the 148 odd on mine are 4 into 1 headers, and LPG! I'll try and get them to do a run on LPG too, just so I can see the difference.

Im not getting too excited till its been on my usual dyno place. very flat power isnt it, looks totally different to a cammed up ea!

I think the only difference between mine and yours is the cam (and my exhaust) and looking at my sheet ,they seem to be even to about the 140kw mark mine just gets a bit more after that ,AFR is also almost exact

nah thats not tork thats powa, but it being a auto, it cant be from idle to redline like a manual, so its only half a graph really.

stock 160rwkw AFR was 12.0 dropping down to 10.5

your airbox was 165rwk AFR was 11.0 down to 10.0 about halfway then up to 11.0

matt your car has more low down kw than mine (mine about 100kw@100kms)

theres def more there with tuning up AFR's etc , slot a cam bigger cam in first then go for an edit ,hopfully when I do these I get up near 200

Jabba its a photochop of my own car (not finished )

Can you say "Automagic"

Automatic cars tend to have a flat torque curve like that.. Something to do with the torque multiplication.. But thats another story :P

Flat torque curve be buggered its half a graph and its power not torque.

rescale it to something you are used to seeing and it just normal.

Now my six has 95rwk at 100kmh too and it has a 3.23 diff not a 3.45 so its got that a lower revs.

Anyway its all bull. Your in third on the dyno in an AU auto at 100kmh and you put your foot to the floor what happens is it changes down to second so true full throttle will be slightly different as the operator has to gradually floor it trying to avoid kickdown. No kickdown cable to remove on EEC Autos is there.

Thats right, the curve looks flat because its scaled 25kw to 250kw.. That normally gets changed to suit the graph to show as much detail as possible

In 3rd gear on a AU, at 100km/h, the auto WILL NOT downshift into 2nd when you boot it to the floor.

I have dyno tuned my XR8 MANY times, and i will tell you the process here

1) bring the cars speed upto 100km/h with the shifter in 3rd
2) switch the switch to load
3) put your foot to the floor. the engine will load up and the speed will NOT increase, it will stay at 100km/h

4) switch the ramp to UP and watch as the speed / revs go upp.

5) when the RPM comes close to redline, switch RAMP from UP to centre position

6) Take foot OFF the accelerator

7) take the mode switch from LOAD to centre, and watch as "MAX POWER" shows up on the screen

The problem with autos is you have to do the run 100+ because it will downgear if its closer to 80-90ish

your techniques textbook no problem there but...

Maybe XR8's don't but my AU six WILL change down to second gear at full throtle at 100k.

This will be an interesting comparison. I have always wondered the performance cost of LPG. Have you done the dyno runs yet (Just noticed the post was a week old)?

When doing the dyno run on LPG, was the AFR range changed to LPG.
