Default Upgrade Series 1 brakes

Hi all, just after some input as to what combos people have used to upgrade the lousy brakes on the series 1 AU's. Are DBA's better then RDA's or are they just more expensive? Slotted worth it or not really? What pads etc, you get the idea. I prefer my brakes very touchy, as my 8.0 cyl loves to go but I would love her to stop a little better!!

Cheers in advance
Bec

howdy,DBA 4000s with QFM pads and a good quality fluid is a good start, dont forget to flush lines. If you were to add braided lines at each corner this combo will be more than adequate, good value as well.Slotted is worth it considering the extra performance (bite) it will provide for not much more outlay. As to you liking your brakes touchy, the braided lines will firm the pedal up(losse that initial soft feel) stopping the factory rubber line from swelling under pressure.good luck.

PS:Ive had the same setup before and would compare it to the premium brakes on a BA XR6.

Have had the following combo's on my s1

RDA Slotted's + RDA Street Pads
DBA Gold (Slotted + X-Drilled) + Bendix Ceramic GCT (or something like that)

Much preferred the DBA combo, the golds look sexy and i found the braking to be a bit better than the RDA's, (but perhaps that is because the $30 RDA pads are pretty crappy! ) they lasted well over a year before getting the shudders. Have only had my RDA's on for around 3 months.. starting to get the shudders already. I think i will go back to the DBA Golds next time around (at least up front)

If u have the $$ laying around, do a complete upgrade to the s2/3 brakes, apparently that is the way to go Many people on here have done the upgrade, and well.. if u have a look at the difference in the size of the caliper, it speaks for itself!

There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum called Useful AU threads - LOOK HERE BEFORE POSTING A NEW THREAD!! (that's a link)

In there you'll find a link to a thread that has all the details you need.
