Well im 19, had 4 sick days total over 20months, 2-3 weeks in annual leave and I love working. I'd come to work even If I know it's going to be a bad day, cause thats what I like, being kept busy.
I'm kind of shy like that though, If you gave me a car, phone, laptop with decent pay (as little as 40k pa) then i'd feel compelled to give so much back. I hate having a bad name and I recently had my yearly performance review here where I currently work, and I couldn't be further up there backside with everyone loving me, looking at pay rise starting 1st Jan woo :P... so it pays!! (With them also paying for about 7K worth of courses ) I work in IT, and as long as you dont mind me looking over AFF for bout 10mins every 3-4 hours (Morning, Lunch, Arvo), then all is good. Not all of the current generation is as bad as you think. I work for a Job Network Employment Agency and I think we have more over '30-40' dole buldgers not wanting work then young people. Shame really, isn't it.

i'm with you there G.J. i'm 20, been in this job over 3 years with 2 sick days there in. had $3hr payrise in 3 years, the water cooler was taken away and never replaced coz $9 for 15 liters of water was too expensive, have been promised (in writing) pay increases that never came, a bonus for never being sick that never came, and now a new manager has been hired who is less talented than I am, getting paid far more and got a new ute out of it.
needless to say, 2008 will be a better year in a new position. (hence the thread : ) had a reply on my resume this morning actually... sounds good =) |
