Is yours an R32, R33 or R34? Having owned an R32 GTS-T as my first car, I'd say the modded Falcon would win.

yep the easiest couple of mods that will own in a r32 gts-t is as follows:

intercooler and piping + hi-flow turbo (make sure it's a steel wheel version)
boost tap or electronic boost controller
flash tune or standalone EMS (tuned to whatever boost is decent generally 18psi is ok)
as long as it's a decent turbo
exhaust
injectors

all up for me cost bout 5000 dollars
and it put out about 415bhp
then you look at power to weight and it kicks butt.

those mods on an xr8 will see around 220rwkw give or take, depending on car and dyno. this usually equates to a 1/4 somewhere in the mid to high 13's.

an rb25 won't need a whole lot of work to be competitive.

well if it's putting out 330fwkw I'd really hope that's more than 220rwkw or I wouldn't be very happy

330fwkw is "approximately" 246rwkw, i would say a high 13 second 1/4.

You could also try asking here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/forums.html

They should have a better idea on the skyline side of things.

i said 220ish rear wheel because unless he's had the motor out, flywheel kw is just a guess. unless there are other mods, the ones mentioned will not add 70kw to the factory output. 330flywheel kw is a stretch if you ask me.

however thats not the question. as has been mentioned the answer may be better searched for on another forum.

Factoring a what, 25.5% drivetrain loss. ZF gearboxes, in fact all modern gearboxes are usually around 10% loss, maybe 20% at the very far out side.

330fwkw should be around 300rwkw

Your R32 is lighter which will help but it only has a 2litre engine, which won't. While the R32 GTR had a 2.6 litre it wasn't until the R33 that the GTS-T got a 2.5L.

High Performance Imports reckon that this is the way to get 270RWKW out of a R32 GTS-T.

Exhaust $500-$1000 140RWKW

Intercooler $400-$1000 150RWKW

ROM Tune $200-$600 165RWKW

Turbo Swap/Fuel Pump Upgrade/Re-Tune $1500-$4500 220 RWKW

Big Kit: ie big turbo TD-06 or large Garrett/ aftermarket engine management / multiplate clutch / R33 GTS-T gearbox $6000 270 RWKW.

If you don't wan't to do it in stages you can cut costs by not replicating thing like fuel systems and tuning. However still look to budget the better part of 10G if you want to beat a 330FWKW Falcon and then be able to drive home afterwards.

If you want to read the whole article from the mag PM me and i'll scan it and email it to you.

I think you'll find the drivetrain drops between 60 & 70 kW.

cmon guys dont underestimate the GTSt's. 5k in one is like throwing 5k at an Xr6t, huge results.

I would say if your budget isnt huge Apexi powerCai, intercooler and 2.5inch piping, full exhaust inc turbo manifold, 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back, injectors, fuel pump, ignition, larger turbo if you can afford it, get it all tuned and get some good tyres on there and you will have a pretty good chance

I would say you just blew a lot more than 5k.

Xr8's tend to bog down a lot on the strip...expect a lot of wheel spin from your Dad's Ford. GTS would have to expect a better launch. Is it AWD?

my list Inc the turbo, fitting andtuning i reckon would amount to around 8-9k depending on how good the prices you get the parts for

Your dad's falcon is going to kick your butt!

My mate has a R33 GTS-t 2.5L and spent probably about 6k to get it to a dyno'd 185rwkw. It's a quick car with a mid 13s 1/4mile. But your starting with an older albeit lighter car, with 20% less capacity.

Thats a BMW 7 series. Uses the same 6 speed ZF Auto box that Ford uses.

http://www.rototestinstitute.org/pop...p?ChartsID=645

Thats an Audi S6 that uses the same box

http://www.rototestinstitute.org/pop...hp?ChartsID=80

Jag XJ8

All use the same Auto box as the Falcon. How come none of them drop so much from the flywheel to the rear wheels. Is it that Ford's have over-rated power figures?
