Hi All,
Quick question... Do I need Sync 3 to get the Digital Speedo readout in the main cluster or was it available on later model Sync 2 versions, such as 2016 onward build dates? I believe this is also in conjunction with either a clock, temperature readout and various menu changes in the later models If anyone has these enhancements to the main cluster (without Sync 3) can you please let me know the build date.

My MD Mondeo Titanium is a March 2016 build.
On this car there is no provision for a digital speedo. Or I haven't been able to find it.. |

My Mondeo Titanium is a Sept 2016 build, so came with Sync3 software v2.0.
I don't think that Sync3 has anything to do with the central dash, but maybe there have been recent updates to that separately? This is what my central dash looks like, and I can use the right hand buttons to control what is on the central dash, and I can select a digital speed display. |

The Sync 3 update also gave the enhanced cluster display and Digital Speedo.

Sorry to hear that you don't have it - as Sync3 and being able to have the digital speedo is really good.
It would be nice if Ford at least offered MD driving lottery winners with an upgrade kit! I think that Sync3 came with all builds from July 2016?? |

I don't have it in my Sync 2 Titanium either. I didn't know Sync 3 update gives you digital speedo, now I know what I've missed out on :( Your trip computer readout is different too, and much easier to read.

Definitely not in my MD Titanium.
It's a September 2014 build.

There must be an update to the HMI or whatever they call the LCD instrument cluster.
I'd assume it wouldn't be avaliable to Sync 2 Owners because the HMI in pre Sync 3 Models have the different functions colour coded to the quadrants as designed in Sync 2 and to which is no longer used in Sync 3? Would be nice to have that Speedo option though, as I find having a compass when it's in navigation mode for example pretty useless unless you are actually using navigation. |
