According to news.com.au the Mustang outsold the Commodore.
https://www.news.com.au/technology/i...3ecbfa1c45616e With GM dumping sedans, closing factories and selling Opel to Vauxhall and Peugeot, the Commodore may very well end up discontinued. Note the preponderance of Utes: 1st, 2nd and 4th best sellers.

4x2 Tradie Ute sale last month, I expect that’s where HiLux really hustles against Ranger.

Interesting. Holden must be selling a bit of every model they have to only be 394 sales below Ford, where as Ford seems like they're relying mainly on Ranger and Mustang.

The top-selling passenger car in November was again the Toyota Corolla 2663, while Mazda’s popular CX-5 2000 was the best-selling SUV.
Ford failing in both these segments and only capitalizing on one The top 10 vehicles is made up of twin cab utes, small cars & small/medium SUV's Focus is due for an upgrade and Escape hasn't improved much since its name change from Kuga. anybody know how many they sold of these?

Escape needs to do better for Ford, but it is getting old and a new one is due in the US next year. Not sure when we will get it as ours come from Europe. |

Ranger supply has become an issue again. Amazingly most people are opting for the 2.0 on XLT and Wildtrak. Ford has plans to change the split for 2019 to increase 2.0 production and reduce 3.2.

IMO i'd have to agree.. as lack lusture the holden line up is currently ( and for me there is absolutely NOTHING in their line up that interests me), they are not all that far behind Ford who's only real good sellers are the ranger & mustang. Just shows atm how important it is for ford not to drop the ball on these two models & always be a leader in developing them or they will risk a massive fall.

Source? Re “supply issues”.This is NOT on any news regarding sales of it.Go Auto,Car advice,Motoring.com.au etc...Ford “propaganda”?Hilux again has smashed in sales in both category’s(4x4 & 4x2) In fact it smashed its owned record from last year(4,000 odd units) to this year of 4,600 odd units.(& this year is not even finished!)Ranger:3600 odd units. It seems Ranger will never catch Hilux,it just keeps going from strength to strength.Cheers

All they have to do is get the data for various variants. How simple is that? No brainer really. How could you get it wrong, especially if you know customers buying preferences?

Ford national sales manager meeting... Is that a good enough source for you? Hilux only outsells Ranger due to 4x2. Current promo on 4x2 Hilux with a tray is $23,990. The cheapest Ranger is nearly 30k! And before you say Hilux 4x4 outsells Ranger, yes it does but not every month. The reason is national fleet customers tend to stick to 1 brand, so if they buy 4x2's they also buy 4x4 Hiluxs.

How do you know customers buying preference when you bring a new engine to market that doesn't exist? Ford played the smart card here.

that the Ranger 4x4 is more expensive than the comparable Hilux. Toyota had some good sales on its 4x2 and 4x4 Hilux that were at least five grand less than Ranger. As Bent 8 pointed out earlier, Ford's five years free service kept Ranger in the hunt with 4x4 Hilux last month but no way could it match $23,990 drive away tradie utes, that's an area Ford refuses to revisit let alone compete in. Wow, that means every month they were less than 3 units ahead in the VFACTs numbers every month Because Ranger 4x4 doesn’t outsell Hilux according to you. Or maybe just maybe Ranger 4x4 outsold Hilux in some of those 8 months ? |

Whilst those purchasers may well have bought Wildtraks had Raptor not been on offer, they wouldn't have all turned up to buy them in October or November, whichever month's numbers they were included in. It wouldn't have much effect on YTD sales, although im sure some of those Raptor sales were to people who wouldn't necessarily have bought Ranger, but it definitely would have inflated a particular months figures. |

Vehicle..................4x4..............4x2..... ....TOTAL
Hilux 2017.............3,174...........929..........4,10 3 Hilux 2018.............3,669.........1,002.........4,671 Ranger 2017..........3,153...........423..........3,576 Ranger 2018..........3,023...........446..........3,469 I think it's obvious that Hilux had better discounts on it's range than Ranger, especially the 4x4s as discussed last month and that Ranger Raptor sales are basically being folded into Ford's 4x4 sales, What we can't see from this is the richer product mix that Ranger is gaining apart from knowing that roughly 400 of this year's sales are RRs +$10K dearer than Wildtraks - did they replace them or other XLT sales? We probably won't ever know....either way, I bet Ford is pleased with the result. |

Ranger is the least of Fords worries. They just need to get their SUV range selling better and also Focus. Small increases across the range will make a big difference.

1) I know this is a Ford website, but I don't know why so many people **** on the Commodore. 700 sales IMO is a great month. Did people actually think it was going to sell much more than this?
2) I think Ford is going to be in a lot of trouble for years to come, they have a very ugly line up at the moment. That kuga thing will NEVER sell well, it looks completely **** house... But I'm happy to be proven wrong!! |

I think the bigger concern for Holden is it's dealer network, I know they cut some dealers across the country however the size of the network is still too large for the volume of sales. |

in other news, Mustang scored 780 sales.
I hear HSV have RHD engineered Camaros up to 12 per day and process hours down from 130 to 60 - 70. I wonder when we'll see sales numbers....does anyone have them yet? |
