The forum sponsor, FTG autosalvage should be able to source you some Boss parts.
They have a seperate forum area where you can see latest additions. |

I'm not a BOSS guy nor have a I read much about them. But I don't think I've come across one thread or person who has changed the intake (we're talking manifold here I assume?) These motors are pulling some big numbers and quick times in heavy cars..

yeah, the manifold. the options over here are very limited, ford does not put the 5.4 4 valve in anything but the ford GT and the lincoln navigator(utility vehicle). they put them in the 2000 cobra r, but those parts are impossible to find. the falcon intake manifolds look similar to the r model ones. so i thought to myself, the guys over there would know. really appreciate the warm welcome i have been recieving. thanks again

Welcome. I had a look at the 03 and it's absolutely beautiful.
It seems you guys are fairly keen on the aussie intake gear? I was helping a guy from the corral in looking up some parts and prices as he was building a four cam 5.4 and wanted the aussie boss gear. Manifold was about $1400 IIRC, fuel rails were $850....

wow, thats pricey. can that stuff be found in salvage yards there easily? as far as bein keen on them, not really. have always liked the look of the australian falcons. they ysed to televise the racing on speed channel over here. i think this will be the best way to gather info on them. if anybody is interested here is a link to our local mustang board, which i am a moderator on.

G'day Paul, first of all welcome! Here is a photo I took of the Boss intake manifold on an engine in the Ford museum in Geelong, it's not the best photo but shows the intake runners and the underside of the plenum from the rear of the engine.
Have a look in the following forum sections: FPV car section, Boss/Modular V8 tech section, and drag racing section. I don't think there would have been more than a couple of engines with built bottom ends yet, consequently most people are running the stock rev limiter or not much higher. Even so we are seeing cars putting out over 400rwhp. Best performance at the strip would have to be user Chris with his ute that ran a 12.00 at 113mph with almost no weight reduction (would be ~4000lb or a bit more), on a 1.7s 60 footer. There was a twin throttle body intake under development by Battens Performance in WA (they are on the forums as a sponsor) but I'm not sure it has been released yet. |

hi stickcar...
welcome to our little abode:P your cars looks awesome, well done on that!!! (especially love the fox body:P) i find it amusing that i'm hunting parts for my 302 windsor from the US, and americans are hunting parts for the 5.4 from here... it really does show just how far we've come in terms of development, and its still a fairly new engine here... i'd imagine later on, it will cop quite a bit more opening up, more places will develop parts for it... good luck on the search for parts mate.... |

what are you looking for for your 302? the factory stuff we have fro the 5.4 fails by comparison to the parts they are putting on your cars.

Stickcar1990: check out the improved intake that forum sponsor RDP are developing could definately be an alternative to a factory part.

In Australia - unfortunately - it is far more likely to get a response on a telephone call.
