Default The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Well guys (and Gals) it's time for me to sign off the Mondeo Forum. I picked up my shiny new G6ET today (everything you read is true and more) and traded the Zetec in. Unfortunately I get bored with cars rather quickly. Thought after nearly 2 years I was doing well with the Mondeo, but then the opportunity for the G6ET came up. What's a man to do??

Thought I might share my thoughts briefly about the good things and the bad things of the Mondeo:

Things I will miss (the good):

- Exterior style and interior comfort
- Effortless open road touring (I can sit in this car for hours)
- Size (it really is as big a a Falcon) and huge boot
- 6 speed auto gearbox is a good thing
- Economy
- Voice control, especially with phone.
- Quality switchgear, especially steering wheel mounted controls.
- 7 airbags. My knees have never felt safer.
- Reliability. Nothing ever went wrong.

Things I won't miss (the bad):

- Frustrating lack of power in cut and thrust of Sydney traffic
- Ridiculously tall rear hatch when open
- Brake dust on front wheels.
- Interior plastics easily marked. Heaps of white scuff marks on doors. Easily cleaned but back again as soon as someone rests their arm or hand.

The Ugly:

- Me, sat behind the wheel.

Thanks for the valuable and worthwhile contributions made to this forum. No doubt I will still check it out occasionally, but I guess my time will now be mostly spent on the G6ET forum. I hope the posters there are as good as you guys.

Cheers.

Have fun with your G6ET. When you write the same list in a couple of years time, I'm sure lack of power won't be included in the bad!

I 2nd the hatch when open being so tall. I've damaged mine already in a basement car park. Bloody annoying. :

Enjoy your new car.

Let us know how it goes with the G6ET. That's on my list when changeover comes.
Enjoy!
