I got my FG XR6 Turbo upgraded just recently and now it goes and sounds like a jet. The induction noise from the K&N Pod filter makes it money well spent. It's so loud when you lift off the throttle and makes the chuchuchu sound (what I always wanted lol) anyways I took her for a short spin around the block and she didn't care one bit. I died a little inside. You'd think she'd have the same reaction I did when I first took it for a drive. I loved it. But not her hahha.

My girlfriends first car was a '71 beetle. Daily driven up till 2014. She now works for an automaker. Has enthusiasm for classics, so win win, but that means our house is like the Kerrigans house in the Castle! You want the first car in? Move five other cars first. But get a good discount from Shannons! Lol.

My wife couldn't care less about cars. Just a way to get from A to B. She doesn't care what she drives. Has a BF XR6 and a turbo territory ghia though.

Mine loves cars. Nothing less than 8 cylinders for her. 6.0L for daily duties, and her own Group A for the weekends.
She has brought home a motorsport trophy in my Brock too..... She often wonders out loud how I can be happy driving a 4.0L I6 as a daily, but I quite like the FG LPi. |

Mine isn't really into cars but she is willing to listen to all the crap I carry on with, she also nods and agrees when I explain why I need another new car or modifications (and my reasons are truly pathetic sometimes).
The brakes started squealing in my golf so to rectify I just bought all new front and rear DBA T3 4000 series rotors and Winmax W2 pads (Thanks Matt- Racebrakes) and she was completely fine with it. This comes just weeks after buying a secondhand Navara, putting a 2 inch lift in it, new tyres, lights, brakes and other minor things. And to top it all off she also doesn't complain if I drive in a spirited manner. So she may not be into cars but I am not going to complain about that! |

mine is/was into cars, she used to have an XD she drag raced back in NZ but she has lost the passion. she still likes the sound and look of certain things but she is less into power now and more about comfort. Her car is the adventra thats all black with black 22in rims, big exhaust, tune....so-on but she just wants it sound and look good, i wanted it to go good too.
she loves my GT but she hates my kingswood because its got patina and she would rather i blow $8k of house money on a paint job then let me drive it as is

I don't own my own business so I don't have a 'partner', but my Wife doesn't mind our cars.

Well. One day we were walking to my car to go somewhere and she stopped at a beat up old silver Camry with massive panel damage on the side and tried to get in.
I asked what she was doing, she said it looked like my car (Lighting Strike G6E). More recently we were at a shopping centre with her red A1. She walked up to a gold Lancer and tried to get in. Said she thought it was my car. Basically, she knows what a car is, but they're all the same to her. She's interested in the most fuel efficient car she can get, and thinks we should only have one car between us. That said, she also likes the idea of a Hilux. She is polite enough to listen to me talk about cars at least. And she does enjoy going fast, but doesn't want that in a car herself. |

I've had a lot of cars close to thirty. She hates the cost and money i have spent , but I think she always like the faster ones . I think she probably liked the TE50 the most and maybe the VJ Valiant Regal second , the car I had when we first went out in 1983.

My wife couldn't care less.
She usually drops me over when I pick it up but other than being comfortable on a trip she's less than interested. That's not a bad thing... edit: I should add that it works both ways. I didn't know we had a new lounge until Nick Scali's rang to let us know it was being delivered the next day...

My wife grew up in a family that loves Fords, both her Grandad's worked for Ford for over 20 years. So she liked all the ford cars I've owned (fg xr6 turbo, fgx g6e turbo & fgx xr8). When we first started dating i had a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T she hated that car, haha.

I tell my wife wife that the sounds she makes when we're alone sometimes are far more important to me than the XR8 will ever be. This seems to work well for me in many ways. She loves the car and doesn't have to complete with it for my attention.

Mine has no interest in my cars but is happy to listen along to my rambling and join me when I wish to cruise and for that I return the favour and attend the opera and symphony orchestra a few times a year.
She’s can be quick to both defend me or laugh at my expense when family or friends dig at me for being a car nutter who takes 5 days of hard slog to get the tyre black just the right shade of matte before I’ll move it out of the garage. She is interested in her car being what she wants and she likes it to be updated regularly and well looked after (by me) but only really sees it as a means to get from A to B. She does understand that I'm into them and if I don’t question her spending she doesn’t care about mine and that keeps us both happy. It’s the give and take and knowing how to compromise and not trying to change each other that has been the simple secret to our marriage being a happy one. |

My wife couldn't give a toss to be honest... But she does listen to me when I waffle on about them or see something nice when out and about...
Her only thing with cars is she likes "sitting up high" so doesn't like driving sedans...

My wife has a European background and only likes Australian or Japanese cars.
Doesn't really care what car she had as long as it's modern, safe and reliable. Her dream car is a Lexus LS sedan... probably because Havey Specter in Suits is driven around in one. |

I don't talk petrol with her, thats why I'm on here but she gets my cars...
Watching love the beast was the turning point. She cut me loose to spend the next five years either building or working overtime to pay for a nut and bolt rebuild on my Escort, my first car that'd been sitting in Dads house for years. We dragged the Cortina out of a shed together and she could see through the dust to the gem underneath. With the new GT Cortina here I'm teaching her some welding just so she can say she helped build it. I've slayed a few dragons but it looks like I got my princess in the end.

I have no partner but if I did and they don't pay for it then it is none of their business as far as I'm concerned. We waste money on cars they waste it on shoes. So many shoes

Mine had no interest in cars. Thought my F6, Mach 1 Mustang, Pontiac GTO's and other classics were an infantile pursuit and a waste of money. So I proceeded with the obvious solution ... I got rid of her.

My wife will comment on any any lowered turbo xr6 in a good way. I copped the opposite treatment when I got the exhaust for the ghia, still not fitted but the extra 1.3kw gain on a grandpa car, she still likes car shows and arcs up when I want to do anything to my own. Yet she gives her ecoboost fg heaps. I say its pipe time

My wife wants an F6X to compliment the F6 Typhoon. She also had a 220kw BA Ghia before moving overseas, and loved the exhaust note. Before we were married however, she thought liking cars was beneath her.
People change.
