There's an article on GoAuto that suggests it may be back on the radar seeing there will be no FG falcon wagon update.

There will still be a falcon wagon - a BF MK III. There is no sheet metal update to bring it in line with the new FG sedan/ute.

I thought I read its coming in around 12 months or so as they wanted to get the sedan and ute out asap, with the BF MK III wagon just a temporary initiative until FG wagon is released.

I would be very surprised if we do get it, I don't think Ford would want it to eat into the Falcon wagon sales. My dealer that I got my car from told me that he was told that Ford where not bringing it to Australia.
So i guess we will just have to wait and see.

I would say yes, it will come, just a matter of do they bring it in to align with Europe updating their model... (soon) or wait til after FG has been released... and then update between Falcon and Territory updates...
The Mondeo wagon will appeal more to private buyers, and not fleets, give it will be lineball priced, but not as heavily discounted as what the BF3 Wagon will be... Territory as they say in the Go Auto article suggests it will appeal to the people looking for bigger/towing/7 seats... Although i am seeing a few companies (Parmalat for one) who are trading up to Territory's.... In my little world, the Mondeo Wagon would slot in nicely. Dont like Subaru's (personal choice) and would prefer a diesel automatic... Passat and 407 too expensive. |

If it is true that the wagon will debut at the MMS, then this is a smart move by Ford. Lets hope they do it right and offer it with the 20's :

I dont know if wagon is available with 2.5 litre turbo in the UK, but I dont see any reason why Ford AU cant order them specially if they ask nicely.

Looks like the wagon will come with the 2.2 diesel if it's brought in.
If Ford confirm this, I am going to be first in line. Peter R. |

I imagine we'll get the 2.2 TDCi when a new update 'officially' filters through the Mondeo range.

"Ford Australia president Bill Osborne said the dramatic-looking [Mondeo] station wagon version that was unveiled at the Melbourne International Motor Show was also expected to lift sales when it was released later this year."

According to the latest release schedule on Carpoint.com.au. The wagon is scheduled for release in October. No other confirmation as yet though.

I sent an e-mail to Ford and was advised that they have no plans to import the wagon.
I was advised that I could import one privately if I wanted - Gee Thanks!!! Looks like it is off to Mazda or Skoda if I want a mid sized wagon. |

People in the FORD CRC are probably the last people to know.....
I would imagine its all in the works still, and come the end of the year, we will know more........ I think that they will... update the diesel to the 2.2 across the range, rationalise Fords overall wagon range, ie, drop the Falcon wagon, create a fleet model territory RWD, and add the Mondeo wagon in its place for those private/novated buyers that want a special car One can only hope this may happen early next year |
