Default No it WON'T buff out

Ok so it finally happened tonight, I was at a commity meeting for my ford club when someone asks those words we all hate-

"Who owns the blue Falcon outside?"

The club uses a function room at a local pub to hold our meetings and one of the pubs regulars decided to consume a couple of ales, then try to drive home. Unfortunately he failed to notice my car parked opposite his in the carpark and hit it! He then proceeded to scarper- luckily we have a vague description of the car and owner, and possibly the street he lives in. I have to take it to the police station tomorrow in my lunch break and see what they say.

Now, i know it's not the biggest impact and at the moment it looks like just a repair job. But- the All Ford Day is on this weekend in Kedron and we have already booked the hotel where we will be staying. So do I just not bother going, or should i still show the car and put a little note on the corner explaining my plight?

Yeah i know...it's not the end of the world but i spent 3 days hand shaping that bar to make it fit perfectly and then for this to happen so close to the AFD. hopefully the police can track him down....

Our secretary will be pleased that his xw got a mention though. hehe.

Go to the show, and drape a ford towel or flag over that corner. Or just buy some blue race tape and patch it with that, then drape it with a flag or something.

nah being fibreglass it's sort of folded one side of the crack a bit. i'm hoping it can be patched underneath and then sort of filled from the outside? will be seeing a panel beater in the next few days to see what they say.

yeah i thought that too. it's not an xw gt ..it's a fakey but still it'd be harder/costlier to replace the older stuff.

in reality...after a few hours to let the headache subside, it could have been much, much worse. it just shites me that someone can destroy your hard work(and $) and not bother to leave a note. if he had've left his details i probably would have overlooked the drinking factor, but because he buggered off- i'm going to try and go him for everything i can.

Show it, I reckon.

People will understand if you leave a small note or something. Clearly its not a mod you had planned..

If he'd backed into the XW there probably wouldn't have been any damage.

Good luck with showing your car, go and enjoy the day, at least it will be a talking point.

Actually they are XHP Scorch rims 18" and they are excellent..clean up really easily and look a million bucks.
This is the best one i could find side on-

or before the bodykit-

And one of the wife's beetle(yes these are exactly the same 18" too)-

hope this helps.

ok after much deliberating it has been decided that we will be at Kedron! Partly because I've been looking forward to it for so long but mostly out of stubborness- i don't wanna let this guy ruin my fun.

I went and saw the local police today and gave them everthing i know, and the young lady officer seems to be dead keen to find this joker, so thats a positive so far. I am so pleased to find an officer who understands that to us they are more than 'just cars'.

i do have the stocko bar but, because i had to fit a custom dump tip to the exhaust to suit the bar (it pops out under the corner where the damage is) it will hang down around 3" past the bottom of the bar. i did consider this, but it'd look odd.

by the way it wasn't a dumb question.
