Has anyone got genuine Ford Weather shields for the front and back windows?
If so any chance you could upload a pic? I can't see them on the ford site, but they have a UK ford dealer that sells them, but no photos. Just trying to see if they are slimline and black or if they are the old style types. Many thanks in advance. Greg. |

Got mine today.
They affix via a sticky strip and a bonding agent, no screws etc. Cost me $107 as the dealer bumped the price up a touch. Heres a Pic, I think they look quite good... |

Does look good LR. Very nice. Slimline, definitely the way to go. |

I had a set of fronts but they fell off after 10 months - genuine Ford fitted too.
I'm waiting to put the car in for next service at which time they'll be replaced.

Rang my dealer today, they had one set for the front in stock. $58 inc GST. I had to pay the GST. Anyway, none for the rear, so i must just try it with the fronts first and then if I need a set for the rear, i'll order then.

Although it isn't often I get wet by having the window open and the windscreen wipers on. I generally have the windows up but the sun roof open! Opps. |

LMAO @ sunroof comment ha ha.
Used them today in the Sydney rain. Forgot how nice it is to have that fresh air in the rain. Definitely worth the money. |

They do look good. Is there much of an increase with wind noise?

Yeah wind noise is increased, but only at highway speeds. More so with the windows up, windows down little to no difference.
I don't find the wind noise annoying, but you can definitely tell its there. With the radio turned up at about 6 or above you can't really hear the wind noise. Under about 5, you can. |

Went for a longer highway drive yesterday and did not notice any increase in wind noise at all.

So if you decide to take them off and leave them off what are you left with?

Lots of sticky residue to remove!
So far on ours, both fronts fell off before the 3k service, the rears (which were out of stock pre-delivery) were fitted at the 3k service and had come off before the 15k service. The rears were put back on and the Mrs now tells me that the front of the drivers front shield has now come free again........

Might be my rear making the added wind noise, not the fronts?
People who's have fallen off, the dealers may not have done it right. There is a specific method to put them on, if they didn't clean the area well, the adhesive won't stick. But time will tell... |
