Hey,
Somethings up with my indicators, got a LV XR5. I've noticed that sometimes they make noise (normal idicator clicking) and other times you can't hear them at all. I am gettin tired of drivin down the road with my indicator on like an old fart. Any one had this problem? Helppppppp

I think you will find the sound comes from the cluster which has a speaker in it and not a flasher relay like older cars did

Closest thread for my question...
Anyone got any idea how to make them louder? As the OP stated, I'm tired of looking like the old fart who has his indicator on for a kilometre after changing lanes... They're quiet even without music/radio.

I doubt there's much you can do. As was mentioned earlier the sound is produced by a speaker that's either soldered into the circuit board in the back of the cluster or in the stalk itself. Incidentally, I hear that its the same speaker that makes the infinitely grating seatbelt dinger.
I've left it on a few times too but its usually when the stereo is cranked up

They are a bit quiet but I don't find it much of a problem.
On a different note, has anyone experienced fading or yellowing of the mirror mounted indicators? |

i think they use a electronic flasher and that could be why they are quiet. i tried a led globe in my cars external mirrors and the flashing speed was the same today. normally they would flash faster due to the low resistance of the led.

Biggest problem I find with indicators is that for some reason after changing lanes when I turn the thing off if I hit it that bit too hard in the opposite direction it flashes three or four times in the opposite direction to the lane change I've just done!
